turkelton OP ,

True. I shall return with a basiled one

turkelton OP ,

Same

turkelton OP ,

It’s the easiest. I also used to pull it apart with forks, but thethinn slices are the least work.

turkelton OP ,

Oh shit In didn’t know that about the yeast - thank you : ) also ironic because sugar the opposite hahah.

I don’t put oil in because I’ve never seen it with my favorite recipes / cooks - I dip my pizza slices in oil before I eat them.

But there are a lot of doughs that do have oil in them, but they all seem less pizza-y. Maybe it rises less?

Will have to test

turkelton OP ,

Thanks

turkelton OP ,

You probably mean the semolina dumplings- the bread ones are formed into balls by Hand.

turkelton OP ,

You wrap the whole thing in a cloth and close it up with thread like a bonbon and Cook that cloth.

Then you slice it and fry the slices in oil or butter

I’ll take progress pics the next time I do one. But there’s a lot of recipes if you look for “serviettenknödel”

turkelton OP ,

Lol I almost wrote napkin dumpling in the title but I thought it would be too weird

turkelton OP ,

Nice. Try to fry a slice some time, also goes great with an egg poured over it after frying

turkelton OP ,

It was outside my dad’s house - It turns out he found it with some old tech in his house and pit it out there hoping someone would take it.

I took it the next time I came.

EDIT: he says it was out there 2 weeks

turkelton OP ,

Nice - I didn’t have a VGA cable handy but I took it with me and will try when I get my hands on one

EDIT: the LED lights up though

turkelton OP ,

It does

turkelton OP ,

What’s that?

turkelton OP ,

What’s that?

turkelton OP ,

Hey! I got around to test it with a VGA cable and it fucking works! Watched a Seinfeld episode on it.

turkelton OP ,

Thanks and you are totally right, it was a bit complicated, almost forgot about that.

Usually for the chicken Soup I disassemble it before serving on a board and the put the pieces back in the soup.

In this case we kinda pulled it off the bone with a fork, wasn’t the best but it worked.

turkelton OP ,

Yeah, I made the broth with 900g pork feet and 500g chicken bones.

Linux on a 2in1 for Uni (lemmy.world)

Hello linix@lemmy, I got fixed on the idea of replacing my iPad with a 2in1 like the thibkpad X13 for uni since I use the keyboard with my iPad a lot. The only time I need to take handwritten notes is in chemistry, mathematics and to annotate PDFs. Does anyone here have experience with convertibles running Linux? What would be...

turkelton OP ,

How is the on screen keyboard?

turkelton OP ,

Can you tell me more about the typing experience of the onscreen keyboard?

turkelton ,

My 2c:

On projects over a certain revenue the AI could say how much it was influenced (trained on) by the respective copyrighted content and then royalties could go out to the people who own that content in percents.

My 4c:

There could be an intellectual property blockchain and everything that can be used to train an AI gets a token.

Again, I think all of this should only be mandatory for huge corporations, similar to how unreal engine is free under 1 million dollar earnings.

This could also be an interesting way to see how human made content makes its way through the “minds” of AIs.

turkelton ,

Yes

turkelton ,

Have a clevo and it sucks.Battery life is poory And the Fans go off for like no reason

turkelton ,

My m1 has rwally crappy Battery life

turkelton ,

Does anyone have on-screen keyboard experience with Linux tablets?

GNOME Mobile should have a good one after purism started pushing it, right?

Any more info on this?

turkelton ,

It’s a tuxedo. The xp15 gen 11 vor clevo PD50. i7 10th gen and a 2070 max q. And a 4k OLED. Battery life is about 50 min : (

I would LOVE an arm machine, but I need a GPU for work.

I got my eyes on the framework 16. I could leave the GPU at home and go for battery life. Or put it in and go into work mode.

turkelton ,

I, too think that the change is the thing that has left me hollow.

turkelton ,

True.

But I think this semi chaotic reshuffling is also somewhat exciting and reminds me of what I think the early days of online communities were like

turkelton ,

I would look at the AsRock Deskmeet.

Maybe not one of the current models but a generation before.

With that you can choose a CPU suiting your budget and you have the flexibility to add a used (or new) GPU in the future.

turkelton OP ,

I haven’t. I always liked to have the possibility to use GNOME on my machine. That wouldn’t work then if I were to have a Ubuntu VM, right?

And do you know if I would I get quicksync access to the i3 for transcoding ?

Thanks

turkelton OP ,

Thanks. I mean I probably don’t have that threat level, but you are right - it also feels good to have isolation.

The downside was the cost of the 2nd machine (~400$) and running it (~5$/month) and the time involved.

But I tend toward thinking it is the right choice

turkelton ,

Hahaha true for me too that they would struggle

turkelton ,

Also thought about that a lot. The most important is that your people can access your data. My partner and bestie both have LUKS keys on all of my devices.

Maybe do a test run with them to see if they can actually access it.

turkelton ,

Also wanna know

hosting open multimedia library safely

i have a collection of media i want to share on a request basis, i.e give specific people access to the full collection on request, but i’ve never hosted any service open to the wider net, so i’m quite wary of any potential risks, mainly getting a letter from my isp for uncommon data usage or opening my network to any...

turkelton ,

I’m trying to talk a lot of friends into using my. Jellyfin and even helped them set up tailscale and all that. But they keep going back to paying Netflix etc.

turkelton ,
