Hey, y’all! Just another random, loudmouthed, opinionated, Southern-fried nerdy American living abroad.

I’m moving off kbin to lemmy, so I won’t be posting from here (unless kbin social gets it together).

Hamas will have always been in the West Bank, of course.

Ok, but, this isn’t about Elon? He’s not even mentioned in the article, aside from passingly. Tesla isn’t just Elon Musk.

To me, “Elon news” Is about something that idiot has done personally, not companies he runs. This story is not about Elon.

Yeah, I’ve got EDS, and gaming is one of the few things I can do and not risk being too much in pain (I do have to watch out for my fingers spraining and dislocating, though). Days when I can’t walk very well, I can still sit down and play a game.

stopthatgirl7 OP ,
@stopthatgirl7@kbin.social avatar

Well, there are thirteen different types of EDS (most of them are REALLY rare, though), based on which connective tissue they impact the most. The most common are hypermobile, classical, and vascular. I have the hypermobile type, which mostly impacts joints. Classical EDS can have skin issues, and vascular is the type where it can cause your blood vessels to rip open inside of you. hEDS is the least likely to kill you, but most likely to negative impact your quality of life.

Musk finally end that step too far. Dude forgot there’s a world out there beyond the weird right-wing bubble he’s created for himself on X.

Australia: Sydney University sacks immune-compromised academic for insisting on COVID safety (www.wsws.org)

Unless Niko Tiliopoulos’s sacking is defeated, it will set a precedent for use throughout the tertiary education industry to victimise and sack educators who refuse, for critical health reasons, to adhere to the intensifying “return to campus” offensive.

@stopthatgirl7@kbin.social avatar

I’m pretty sure him protecting his life is more important than your wants:

Tiliopoulos has severe respiratory and autoimmune conditions, so he cannot risk catching COVID-19, which could be life-threatening. Two doctors, including one appointed by a university review panel, made that assessment of “substantial” risks to his health.

He has clear reasons for needing to avoid covid, and catching it could very well kill him with his health conditions.

A dead teacher is far less engaging than an online one.

Guns and grenades in the same room as an MRI machine. Because we all know the very best place to store metal items that can go boom is in a room with a gigantic mega magnet.

Heat Index in Brazil Hits 137F (58.5C) (www.okdoomer.io)

It's official, red alerts have gone out across the entire country of Brazil as the heat index hits 137F. The high temperature combined with humidity has made it impossible for most people to carry out their normal lives. There's already reports of power outages. People can't work. They can't run errands. They can barely sleep....

Yeah, but Sony isn’t reaping the rewards for it, scalpers are. Artificial scarcity would make sense if Sony were jacking up their prices, but they’re not the ones doing that.

And that’s not what gamergate was about, no matter what you tell yourself. It was a misogynistic hate campaign.

stopthatgirl7 OP ,
@stopthatgirl7@kbin.social avatar

Ian Miles Cheong got his start with Gamergate. That sholud tell you everything you need to know about what it was.

stopthatgirl7 OP ,
@stopthatgirl7@kbin.social avatar

My brother in Christ, I was there watching it happen. I saw the sad, misogynistic weirdos who used it as an excuse to harass women or as a way to gain a platform (ie, Ian Miles Cheong, Miles Yiannoppoulos). So miss me with that. Hell, Cheong and I used to follow each other on Twitter before his heel turn during GG. So yeah. Miss me with that.

Yeah, but it was the start of the cesspool the right has become.

Dude, I watched gamergate spring up. I damn well know what it was and the damage it caused not just to gaming but to politics in general.

When Steve Bannon decides to use your movement as a recruiting tool and playbook, you KNOW it’s rotten.

It kind of is. It’s from the game Cyberpunk. Less apocalyptic, more dystopian.
