Does anyone else who’s @actuallyautistic get weirdly agitated on work holidays because their routine is thrown off? I’m here with basically an extra Saturday stuck in the middle of my work week, and I don’t have any plans so I don’t know what to do with myself this morning while everyone else is sleeping in.

So I'm wondering - what's your (group your) experience with grief?
My mother died. For long and complex reasons, we hadn't spoken for years. People kept telling me the grief would kick in, but it hasn't. I was angry for a little while, but that went away. No grief, no crying. I was sad for a little while about who she might have been, for herself and for her kids, but she wasn't, and now that's gone, too.

@ScottSoCal @actuallyautistic From what you’ve described, it sounds like you started grieving her a long time ago, when you realized your relationship would never be what it could’ve been. This happens a lot to people who walk away from a parent, including myself.

So perhaps you’re just further along in your grief journey than you gave yourself credit for ❤️

I read the term “computer-aided socialization” yesterday, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since.

Perfectly describes what I’ve done intuitively since I was old enough to find my way into a chatroom.

Planners, lists, and tools for humans may actually make our anxiety worse when we don't follow thru.

They can also be life changing.

Everyone is different.

In either case, one FIRST needs to give themselves grace and accept and appreciate the fact that we don't need to and cannot do everything, all the time.

@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic They work well for me but I’ve had to accept that each one’s usefulness is temporary. Eventually my brain won’t respond to it anymore. So I cycle through different planners, apps, etc. and get done what I can haha.
