After being a Debian and Ubuntu user for many years, im fairly satisfied with win 11. Once you get rid of all that bloatware and enhance some privacy settings. Q

Great comment. She effectively communicates in all those languages, which is impressive. Who cares about her pronunciation mistakes or her accent ! Still, your analysis is interesting to understand the roots of Latin languages and how subconsciously we tend to phonetically use our mother tongue phonetics when communicating using other romanic languages and dialects. It happens to me when speaking specially French or Italian that I cannot avoid but using the tonic syllable of my native language. I always say that, even is not a Latin/greek based language, I love how Swedish pronounce their English: in my experience, kind of trying to communicate efficiently and forgetting, as much as neutrally possible, about the accent. (To be said that later on I learnt that most Scandinavians also have a strong accent when speaking English). I guess that the question is if to be considered a proficient speaker of a specific language, do you need to loose all traits of a foreign accent?

Windows 11 vs Ubuntu vs Fedora 39 vs Arch Linux - Speed Test! (youtu.be)

Even though different Linux distros are often fairly close in terms of real-life performance and all of them have a clear advantage over Windows in many use cases, we can’t reject the fact that Arch Linux has undoubtedly won the competition. And now I’m so glad to have another reason to proudly say “I use Arch btw”...

AW man, my first choice back in the days was Debian. Seeing now your map made me remember the pain of learning along the way while solving nuclear bomb events and configurations that I had no idea even existed. Still, it was a great experience! Nowadays I just use win 11.

I go to Italy often just to eat real Italian food. I understand that for Italians, the hawainana pizza is an aberration, like many other things if not cooked as they traditionally do. And I respect it, because it’s a key part of their culture. Still, I have a right to eat and like whatever I want, so I also expect respect on that sense. Some people will do this and some others won’t. I think it’s a personal choice to decide respecting others opinions.

I want that Bis Ass whopper from the 90s back. It shrinked over time…

I had that purple n64 controller with a special transparent edition also of Zelda the Ocarina of time. What a time to be alive it was!

I’m always surprised about this ideas. I imagine this happening when the marketing intern comes up with it and somehow it climbs the ladder to a point where the person in charge says “let’s do this”. Amazing.

À variation of Greek yogurt / homemade yogurt with muesli (granola I think in the US with berries that I picked from the forest); turns out that making yogurt at home is easier than expected so I spend a few minutes preparing it and leave 7 ready to go jars with yogurt inside on the fridge so I can eat it on the train / job break just adding muesli or fruit season. Quick and easy. I found that eating well is only a matter of preparation and having the good ingredients on the fridge!

Same here. I think that the only thing that I can do now to add something of value is to participate in good and respectful discussions while sharing content that I genuinely like. A grain of salt ends up adding to a mountain they say.

It was a massive coffee… Tbh not so much food after walking hours and being very hungry!

Carrot/orange and ginger. My favourite that I also make at home. I strongly recommend also pinneaple with ginger / or a variation pinneaple with spinach.

À place called Twinkies at Paris. Seasoned tuna with garlic and some other spices.

I genuinely enjoyed this and realised that I was somehow a live marketing strategy since they placed me on the terrace with this setup for everyone to watch when walking by my table. It worked, all the other tables got full in minutes.

I am lucky enough to have grown on a Lebanese cooking family and also to have traveled to the country and tried all possible Hummus variations. Now I have a good panoramic on how to cook my own favourite hummus at home. This was a decent one, tough. Never judge a hummus by its cover but by its taste!

I try to ever forget that under the GDPR scope andanu other privacy legislations, CCPA included, location data (GPS obtained) = Personal Data. The only exception lies only when this data can be disaggregated from any other informations that could link to locate a subject, therefore it wouldn’t be personal but simple data, or if it is fully anonymised. That also raises the obligation to obtain a valid consent and inform the data subject. Maybe it’s better to stick to a non connected to the Internet car… Call me old schooled :S

Awesome! Chill in the morning warmer later on the day (around 25° C)

Max Schrems Costeja case in Spain,

Both set up the ground for the Right to be Forgotten to be born, and also the right of the data subject to request deletion from indexed sites. Such as Google. And this directly in my residence country (EU Based since this falls under the GDPR scope) but basically Mr Costeja was granted the right to pose a formal petition to the Spanish Google office (not finally considered a sucursal) and not directed to the Irish headquarters, as Google argued. So yes, we have a right to be forgotten… Just try and Excercise it towards Google and you might end up in front of the EU Comission :S. Talk about evil corps…

Nice! Any chance to see the original one with colours?

TIL, very interesting. Thanks!

I had the chance to spend some days inside the amazon jungle and it was very concerning how I could hear non stop tree cutting, almost 24/7. Local indigenous tribes told me they could not confront the workers because they might get shot. Finally good news about the Amazon deforestation!

sachamato ,

I need to leave this place right now. You made me very hungry!

sachamato ,

Just came from there a couple of days ago. What a beautiful place!

The real Carbonara, made only with egg is the one on top. Simple but when properly executed… Glorious.
