I’ve worked flexible work shifts, which is basically the same thing. One day work starts at 3:30pm and goes till 12am, another it starts at 12am and goes till 7am, it’s bullshit.

If you get enough sleep it’s fine. Old people struggle a lot with disrupted sleep schedules, though, so there’s no way I could do that shit if I was eighty god damn years old. Why do y’all pretend he isn’t ancient?

The problem gets worse the more both sides add to it! The more cluster bombs and depleted uranium rounds are used, the more uninhabitable Ukraine will become.

Also, I’m not finding evidence Russia was using DU rounds before this - cluster bombs, yes, but not DU rounds. They definitely could have been, their tanks are capable of it, but the news media never mentioned it as far as I could find. That’ll change now that Ukraine is using them, though.

You act like Ukraine is acting independently and making its own decisions. The reality is that any decisions Ukraine makes are heavily influenced by the NATO alliance backing the war effort. There’s a point when you have to wonder how much pressure is being put on them to destroy their own country.

I bet we’ll find out in 10-20 years that they were forced to do this to themselves.

The sanctions regime was effective at one time, because America basically had a stranglehold on the world economy. Sure, sanctions never caused a regime change in Cuba or Iran, but those countries were economically devastated and that was the actual goal.

Things have changed. As dedollarization and multipolarity become dominant, all sanctions are doing is accelerating dedollarization and multipolarity. America is now hurting itself with its sanctions regime as much as its enemies, and it’s only going to get worse.

Taiwan stands no chance right now, but how many billions of dollars in weapons would it take to change that calculus? Ukraine is fighting off Russia despite being in a much worse position because of the endless funnel of weaponry from the West, so it seems that if Taiwan can dig itself in and arm itself to the teeth it can become a legitimate threat. China will be forced to deal with having a hostile enemy as a neighbor, and even if Taiwan didn’t openly invade they could still become a serious regional threat to China and Chinese interests.

Think about the Korean peninsula for what the future might hold.
