This latest move is just another nail in the UN’s coffin. A modern day League of Nations 🙄

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Not what I said.

It’s a nail in the UN’s coffin because it destroys its legitimacy as an institution. The UN isn’t really an international body it’s just a US puppet and unable to do anything the US opposes.

No nation can have veto power, it destroys the whole system. So, like the League of Nations, it is going to fail and be replaced.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

The UN actually does have the power to do stuff when everyone agrees, but the problem is the veto nations keep the UN from ever exercising power. It’s a busted system and it’s going to collapse.

Because otherwise… Russia will invade Argentina? 🤨

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

If Dems want to actually start flipping state legislatures they should probably distance the down ballot from Biden. He’s a millstone around their necks.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Yeah the votes just do not exist.

We should try something else.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Imagine those sick fucks high fiving each other after making that shot.

Death, and I can’t stress to enough, to Israel.

Actually having the government shut these leeches up is good and cool

Biden vows G7 response, ‘ironclad’ US support for Israel after Iran attacks (www.aljazeera.com)

US President Joe Biden has condemned Iranian attacks on military facilities in Israel, pledging a coordinated Group of Seven (G7) diplomatic response while highlighting the United States’s help in taking down “nearly all” of the attacking drones and missiles....

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Fuck off Brandon

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Israel is the US’s unsinkable aircraft carrier in the Middle East. It’s strategically priceless for US world domination.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Also border technology.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

>looks at the uncommitted movement

Yeah I don’t think it’s going to work this time.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Will you vote for Biden if he gets us into WW3?

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

I’m going to write in Aaron Bushnell’s name, who already cast the only vote that matters imo

queermunist , (edited )
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

I’m trans in a red state. If Trump wins I might die.

I’m still not voting for Biden.

Not like it fucking matters, if my state passes a “kill all the trans people” law Biden wouldn’t stop them.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

They’re very clearly pushing Democrats and especially Biden on this issue.

If it weren’t for the uncommitted movement I have no doubt that the US would have responded to Iran striking back at Israel.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

No. I’m arguing that both sides are bad in different ways.

I voted for Biden in 2020 and Democrats in 2022 because I believed they were the lesser of two evils.

Then the genocide in Gaza accelerated and I’m realizing there are no lesser evils in this country. Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good? My dude, America is the enemy of the good! And as those protesters in Michigan said, Death to America

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Yeah this is a one-time retaliation that Iran can do to hurt Israel. If Israel provoked them again they’re probably going to be forced to do something more violent.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Democratic centralism 👀

@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Read another book.

It’s literally how communist states are organized, how is it not a political system?

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

It’s not required for communism per se, but it’s certainly a form of government organization. It’s how the People’s Congress works?

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

The more steps of complexity there are in the system the less efficient it is, this seems incredibly obvious to me? Turning plants into cow flesh is less efficient than just eating plants.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Also it’s way thicker than oat and almond milk.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Soy milk has a more distinct flavor imo - not as sweet either

Also soy is spooooooky~

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Oh yeah, I always get unflavored tho because I use it for making pea protein shakes for my Huge Factory Labor Muscles

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

What funny soy milk are you drinking? It tastes distinct, for sure, rather than being sweetish like oat or almond milk. But in terms of viscosity soy milk has them beat.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Huh, yeah, it totally does taste like grass. Kinda.

I still drink it tho 💪

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Imagine drinking milk from something that can’t consent smdh 😞

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

It depends on how much sugar is in it. Shelf stable soy milk lasts a long time in my experience. ‘Silk’ goes off in a couple weeks tho

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

It’s only terrorism when enemies of the West do it.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Why does Germany support America’s unsinkable aircraft carrier? Hmm.

Saying what can't be said: Israel has been defeated – a total defeat (www.haaretz.com)

We’ve lost. Truth must be told. The inability to admit it encapsulates everything you need to know about Israel’s individual and mass psychology. There’s a clear, sharp, predictable reality that we should begin to fathom, to process, to understand and to draw conclusions from for the future. It’s no fun to admit that...

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

None of Netanyahu’s likely replacements are against the war.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

On the heels of restricting exports to Israel, is Turkey making an alignment change?

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Personally, I don’t think she should ever be allowed to die until she pays back her debt to society. Death is too easy.

To understand the risks posed by AI, follow the money (theconversation.com)

There is one class of AI risk that is generally knowable in advance. These are risks stemming from misalignment between a company’s economic incentives to profit from its proprietary AI model in a particular way and society’s interests in how the AI model should be monetised and deployed. The surest way to ignore such...

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

How about the risk of dumbass managers overestimating AIs ability to save on labor costs and firing too many workers to function?

queermunist , (edited )
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

There won’t be a peace deal without Israel agreeing to a captive exchange, so this is an unserious nonstarter.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

It’s incredible how every Islamic faction that’s involved has been way more cautious and careful for this entire conflict than Israel. I really admire their restraint! Israel is trying to escalate things left and right, but every other faction is trying to keep things from blowing up.

If Biden doesn’t jump on this then he wants Trump to win.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

At least it’s not a backronym.

Imagine Operation R.E.D.S.E.A. or some shit

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Good idea, hitch a ride on a sinking ship.

I’m sure the US will make it work. Somehow.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Sanctions are always meant as collective punishment, it’s a siege warfare tactic. The goal is to torture innocent Cuban people for not overthrowing their government, starve them until they have no choice but to destroy the revolution. America has even directly admitted it:

to weaken the economic life of Cuba . . . [to deny] money and supplies to Cuba, to decrease monetary and real wages, to bring about hunger, desperation and overthrow of government.”

This is the same policy as in Gaza, to starve the people until they turn their backs on the enemy.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Does that have fucking anything to do with Cuba?

queermunist , (edited )
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Sanctions on economies are collective punishment.

You’ve sidestepped the problem, which is that there is a siege war being waged on Cuba and they’ve done nothing to deserve it.

@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Huawei is employee owned. They are the shareholders.

It’s not equal worker ownership, but the money isn’t just going off to investors.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Yeah, because when the US gave long range missiles to Italy and Turkey it led to the Cuban Missile Crisis.

queermunist ,
@queermunist@lemmy.ml avatar

Yeah, because back then the US gave long range missiles to Italy and Turkey. The Cuban Missiles were a response to the US’s aggression.
