And that is the question that should make a person skeptical of this article. You would think that a comment from the Ukraine government would have been included or at least a little more research.

Learning to back up my messages

I’ve been looking around to find a good, privacy respecting way to sync my messages between phones. I decided I’m going to use SyncThing so I don’t have to mess around with a server. The only problem with this is that I haven’t been able to find any apps that work on modern Android that routinely backup and import...

Same, came here to suggest this one but was beaten to it.

Looks like the luckypatcher.com and .info are both terribly spammy. Even with pureapk the download ended up being something called bluejay. Of course the play store chimed in and said installing it would be a horrible idea. I assume I just picked 3 fake sites to download from

mtdyson_01 ,

Thank you, and yes pureapk is a trash site.

A Russian battalion has 900 men. The article stated that there were only about 70 POW’s. Basically they are surrounded by Russian soldiers so even with weapons they would only be able to take out a few people around them before being killed themselves.

Bingo: Trump Admits Intent to “Induce Lending” With Financial Statements (newrepublic.com)

Donald Trump got caught red-handed during his $250 million New York bank fraud trial on Monday when lawyers for the New York attorney general’s office revealed Trump had long ago signed financial documents with the clear intent that they would be used to curry favor with banks....

mtdyson_01 ,

There will be none. There will be a fine sure but there will be a banking institution somewhere that will loan him the money and he will just set up shop somewhere else and continue as he has always done.

mtdyson_01 ,

The extra productivity just increased profits for the company and raise the stock price for investors. The ability to use less manpower increased profits and stock shares. Slowing pay and benefits advancements for the workers increased profits for the company and shareholders.

Companies don’t take the view of all we need to do is break even every year it’s about making more and more money every year. The actual people who put the work in to make those profits mean nothing to upper management and the shareholders they are all replaceable.

If the stock market and mega corporations were gone and there were only small regional privately owned companies you would see a huge difference in workers lives.

They will not expel him even if he is found guilty because they absolutely need his vote. He will be forced to vote however they want because if he doesn’t he will lose his job and the money and protection his job provides.

Alex Jones must pay $1.1 billion of Sandy Hook damages despite bankruptcy - court (www.reuters.com)

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones cannot use his personal bankruptcy to escape paying at least $1.1 billion in defamation damages stemming from his repeated lies about the 2012 Sandy Hook elementary school massacre, a U.S. bankruptcy judge ruled Thursday.

mtdyson_01 ,

I guess the question is, how much money did Jones and his company make from said defamation. Personally I think if a company profits illegally then the fine should be at a minimum a close estimation of what they profited.

mtdyson_01 ,

Maybe the death threats from his fans and having to go into hiding because of his rhetoric bumped up price. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I’m sure there were many parents in the jury that have had enough of the bullshit.

mtdyson_01 ,

It was not just one lawsuit, I believe that may be the combined total of all the lawsuits to date. Rest assured though the judge said his fake bankruptcy may cover the 324 million in lawyers fees.

mtdyson_01 ,

Conservative estimates put his companies earnings at 300 million a year. So ya I’d say it was pretty close since he went on about it for quite awhile. Also don’t forget that during the lawsuit he hid money, lied in court, hid evidence and even refused to show up to court. I think his punishment is more than fitting. This guy knowingly lied about families who were devastated to make money, affecting those families lives to the point that they had to move and go into hiding. Fuck Alex Jones, he’s a shit human being and I hope he spends the rest of his life mopping restrooms in a truck stop somewhere.

mtdyson_01 ,

This one shows his companies net worth apnews.com/…/alex-jones-sandy-hook-shooting-bankr…

This one shows his companies estimated earnings per year based off an email he tried to hide from the courts. www.npr.org/2022/08/…/alex-jones-sandy-hook-case

mtdyson_01 ,

If you read the article Alex Jones claimed it was the best day of sales. It is extremely misleading to claim also that one day of sales is the only information that would be used to determine how much money a company makes. The email was used to contradict the claims that Infowars and his other companies are barely getting by and that’s why he had to file bankruptcy.

Alex Jones started hiding money, refused to provide company documents to the courts and skipped trials. If his account of his finances is closer to the truth then why did he not provide that evidence. Hey, if you just want to take the word of a proven liar that your prerogative and if Alex Jones wanted to prove that his companies only make what he says that they make them he could have easily provided that evidence. Better yet even if his companies only make twenty million a year maybe he should have realized a lot sooner to shut his mouth when he realized his words were ruining people’s lives and potentially putting them in danger because his followers were confronting these poor people. Instead of stopping when Alex realized this he threw more gas on the fire. Of course this is only one instance of this happening, there are many examples of his lies causing harm because his followers believe him.

mtdyson_01 ,

You have 0 proof that it is conservative, you are basing that on the word of a proven liar. That figure in particular could easily be an average day figure or a slow day.

I’m not sure what I’m deflecting because all of your proof is taken from the word of a proven liar and fraud. Just admit you’re a troll and we can move on

Netflix may hike prices after success of password-sharing crackdown (www.reuters.com)

Netflix may hike prices after success of password-sharing crackdown::Netflix’s crackdown on password-sharing likely boosted subscribers by about 6 million in the third quarter and the streaming pioneer is expected to set the stage for price increases when it reports earnings on Wednesday.

mtdyson_01 ,

You answered your own question “Now it’s just garbage corporations turning a quick buck for executives and shareholders” executives must continually find more profit to appease the shareholders, the only way to do that consistently is raise prices, there are too many people that will just keep paying and paying and the corporations know it.

Has the pop up camera (has that ever been a thing?) You would probably have to go back a decade. I may remember Motorola tried to bring back easy battery replacement (where you just kept a spare battery with you and just popped it in when the phone died) but it didn’t last long. There is another phone that is still out I believe that you can replace different modules of the phone but I don’t believe it’s for convenience. The phone is geared more user repair and modifying the phone.

mtdyson_01 ,

I think I do remember the Asus phone. I think it was the zenphone 7 or 8 maybe.

mtdyson_01 ,

Anything that is not AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile will most always rely on one of these three and their towers. Which means you will be deprioritized for their customers. There are some smaller companies that have their own towers but they are few and far between and cover a very small area. Google Fi for example, uses the T-Mobile network and a smaller network that only covers a small patch in the Midwest somewhere.

They would have to put the headphone jacks back in since the wires were the antenna

How is former president of the US Donald Trump still free when a lot of the accomplices in things he has been indicted for are already in jail and or prison except him?

I am asking here because all the political subs don’t allow a question, and US politics used to seemed so simple until to understand this man came along.

mtdyson_01 ,

Not all crimes will keep him from being president. Any guilty verdict from Georgia will send him to jail for a minimum of 5 years, no probation, no home detention. The only charges that if found guilty that would disqualify Trump from being president are with Jack Smith. Essentially, Georgia will send him to jail if he lives long enough and it will be possible for Trump to set another first, the first president to serve from jail because he could not pardon himself for state crimes and the governor has very limited pardon powers in Georgia.

YSK: A car takes uses about seven seconds worth of fuel to start up. If you are going to idle for a period of time longer than that, you'll save fuel by turning your engine off.

Why YSK: People seem to, on average, think that a car takes a lot of fuel to start up. In reality, it takes on the order of a few millilitres of fuel to start an engine. That means if your car isn’t equipped with an automatic start/stop system to stop your engine instead of idling, it saves fuel to turn off your engine and...
