RIP Steve Silberman.

His husband has announced his passing away at https://bsky.app/profile/wardqnormal.bsky.social/post/3l2uljphb2p2e

Very sad news. He was such a kind person and a great ally to . With a colleague we had a lovely chat with Steve during one of his visits to London in 2019: https://www.flickr.com/photos/acrostich/48127822607/

Uncle Larry may regret giving you his old Subaru when you total it on Christmas Day.

Some billionaires may regret the $100 million they gave to an Ivy League school when they think the school should do more to fight

But in most cases, once the gift is given, there's no turning back.

Donors can place restrictions on what their donation can be used for, but those restrictions need to be set when the gift is given.

differentiating having sensory (over) load spoons, verbalization spoons or just having no spoons. a typical miserable dilema is when I feel I can't deal with talking or verbalising but still having energy and craving human contact (but most ppl get weirded out by "let's hang out and do something which doesnt involve verbalization").
I get frustrated when I try to explain this to others and I hear "oh I also need me time". it is not about being alone. it is the opposite. I want to see people, but talking is impossible. so I end up being alone and lonely.

Comments welcome.

Movies, live theater, any activity where you're together but otherwise occupied?

I volunteered at an animal shelter and got a lot of good energy without having to interact much with people, just the dogs and cats, who are just happy to have any attention/interaction.

On Nov. 27, 1978, the late Dianne Feinstein, then the 45-year-old president of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and two-time failed mayoral candidate called a press conference to announce her retirement.

That afternoon, a supervisor killed Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk.

Feinstein handled the moment with poise, and went on to serve 9 years as mayor and 3 decades in the U.S. Senate.
