filister , to world in Little light, no beds, not enough anesthesia: A view from the ‘nightmare’ of Gaza’s hospitals

The real question is how many settlers got effective sentences for killing unprovoked Palestinians or IDF soldiers killing intentionally kids who threw rocks on them. This is once again showing the double standards when coming to Palestinians.

filister , to world in Little light, no beds, not enough anesthesia: A view from the ‘nightmare’ of Gaza’s hospitals

You realise that IDF has killed way more babies than Hamas, right? And not even now, historically. 50% of the population of Gaza is below 18 years. There are 4600 casualties on Palestinian side, meaning that at least 2300 are below 18. Now make an assumption about how many of them are babies.

Not to mention those prematurely born babies that depend on oxygen, and are endangered by the forceful power cut imposed by Israel.

Or is your point that Palestinian babies don’t count?

filister , to world in Israel tells Gazans to move south or risk being seen as 'terrorist' partner

Funny that you mention it, but do you know why Germans voted for the Nazis, because they were desperate and put into a corner, after the end of the WWI and the Versailles treaty they were so bad economically that people were desperate, and guess what, desperate people choose desperate solutions. So in a way, Hamas is in power thanks to the Israelian policies.

Do you truly believe that if those people were in peace and living comfortably Hamas would have been elected in the first place?

filister , to world in Israel tells Gazans to move south or risk being seen as 'terrorist' partner

There weren’t any elections since Hamas took control of Gaza, they have persecuted and expelled/killed all Fatah representatives.

Maybe before saying something try to educate yourself.

I wonder if AI companies can use Lemmy’s content for training their models?

There are a lot of companies using ChatGPT believe me. Plus some users are also paying for getting access to GPT4. I am also using it a lot. It helps but it is not exactly the silver bullet to everything and you should always check what the result is because sometimes it is complete garbage.

People oppose your government and their policies against Palestinians. People oppose illegal settlements and forceful displacement of people. People oppose Gazans being treated like second class human beings. People oppose human rights violations, carpet bombings entire residential neighbourhoods, and so much more.

Likudis complicit with Hamas, they have never looked for a peaceful solution. Instead they were continuously antagonizing Palestinians. Their rule is fuelled by the hatred for Palestinians by the fear. For that they need to put Palestinians into a corner which they systematically do so that they can generalise the whole population and portray them as blood seeking.

And funnily enough Hamas also needs Likud to survive. They need them for the same reason.

Hamas’ military wing in Gaza is around 30K people. Compare that to 2.3Mln. Mostly from uneducated boys whose whole life were living in pretty shitty conditions. 80% of the population of Gaza depends on humanitarian aid. You can’t even fathom what it’s like living there. And I am sure if you were on the other side of the fence you would have had a completely different mindset.

And you know what the most surprising thing for me is, that Jews as a population have been oppressed during the years so much, and yet you are fine with your government to do exactly that to another population.

This only comes to prove that humanity is dead! We as species won’t survive with this attitude. That history taught us nothing!

filister , to world in Israel aims to cut Gaza ties after Hamas defeat

Ah yes, “Israel continues to maintain direct control over Gaza’s air and maritime space, six of Gaza’s seven land crossings, maintains a no-go buffer zone within the territory, controls the Palestinian population registry, and Gaza remains dependent on Israel for its water, electricity, telecommunications, and other utilities.”

I guess Gazans should have been really grateful for that…

And Israel bombed their civil airport, because it was representing a security concern for them. How not to love your oppressor, right?

filister , to world in Photos show scale of the destruction of Israel air attacks on Gaza

Seriously how would you feel if someone tomorrow comes to your house and kicks you out. Then puts you in an open air prison, restricts your right of movement immensely, treats you like a second class human being. Are you really so naïve?

filister , to world in Photos show scale of the destruction of Israel air attacks on Gaza

And Wikipedia tends to disagree with you. The issue is more complex and you cannot blame only one of the parties for the outcome.

So your solution is to drop an “atomic bomb” over Gaza in order to get their unconditional surrender? And ”atomic bomb" here is a metaphor. Did it cross your mind that WWII could have been avoided if the treatment of Germany wasn’t so unfair after the WWI and putting them to a corner, desperate people choose desperate solutions, and I strongly believe that if Gazans were treated better, Hamas would have never been elected.

Think about it. And your link with Japan is really terrible, as they had been subject to fire bombs, two atomic bombs, so don’t repeat past mistakes.

filister , to world in Israeli settlers push Bedouins off West Bank territory

I am not defending any type of violence. I am just saying that you cannot expect with violence to solve any problems. This is not the way for finding a peaceful solution to a problem, and this part of the world desperately needs long lasting peace.

filister , to world in Photos show scale of the destruction of Israel air attacks on Gaza

By killing more than 4000 civilians, causing a humanitarian crisis on purpose, carpet bombing residential neighbourhoods and displacing hundreds of thousands of people.

So in what world that’s fair?

filister , to world in Photos show scale of the destruction of Israel air attacks on Gaza

So your whole reasoning is that because Jewish people have been oppressed in the past give them a carte blanche to oppress other people?

Didn’t you think that Hamas is in power because of the ill treatment and oppression of the Palestinians?

Do you think that the Nazi party would come into force if it wasn’t the Versailles treaty, that put the German people into a corner, with hyperinflation and no hope in sight. Can’t you see the parallels?

When did violence have given birth to something good?

filister , (edited ) to world in Israeli settlers push Bedouins off West Bank territory

You know for every Israeli civilian there are a couple of times more civilian casualties on the Palestinian side.

And I do agree with the other comment that Hamas is in a way in power because of the oppression and ill treatment of the Palestinians.
