I personally blocked it because I want to talk to everyone on lemmy

Genius

@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

I had fully understood what you wanted to mean, even though phrased badly. However the reason I quoted it is because of how contradictory is your thought process.

There is literally no reason to hardcode the ads in the game. They need a placeholder that will show ads fetched from an API, like Google ads. The ads will always be up to date and targeted

They voluntarily put webcams in their houses with several known security issues which transmit everything open in the cloud. And they purposefully have a listening device which transmits to Amazon whatever they talk about in order to be able to listen to music without having to use a mouse or tap on a screen.

But having an ID with a photo on it? That’s where they put the line

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

we haven’t lost the knowledge or resources needed

Yeah its not that simple. Knowledge is pretty much lost in terms that there is not any easy or practical way to reconstruct for example the computer that navigated the Apollo and assume that this will provide a flawless trip. This hardware is also outdated so it would had been dumb to attempt to reconstruct something so many decades old. Also the code that run there was coded for this specific hardware which makes it unsuitable for modern hardware. So yeah, the knowledge exists in archives but is not really usable as is

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Yeah but this is in the area of unpaid labor. You “had to” solve a captcha in order they let you use another service. You are not visiting a page with the sole purpose of voluntarily solving captchas

easier to have posts be given tags

If this is not being done automatically by the server by analysing the content, people will not use tags, or use irrelevant tags, or fill it with tens of tags like Instagram’s early days or whatever else I cannot think of now. But I think it is not easy to work as intended

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

It doesn’t count if it is an accident. So they pretend that one of them lands on the other

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

And this is why they focus and promote the podcasts so much. Podcasts don’t have any label intermediate

Google is not funding Firefox only for the search engine being default. Google needs to keep Firefox alive because it is their sole competitor. If Firefox (Mozilla) goes down, Google can be accused for monopoly practices which is something they want to avoid.

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Chromium comes straight out of Google though. It is not another browser. It is the same engine. They give their engine for free and different companies use it to make their own flavors of the engine of the “Google browser”.

They’re actually increasing the market share of their browser engine by having chromium open source.This is not competition.

Mozilla has good lawyers too.

@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

I suppose it depends on your system’s abilities, but my guess would had been that you get all frames but for shorter period of time

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Awesome, now you get only subconscious messages flashed in your eyes.

What else are people going to do to avoid installing Firefox?

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Well actually they can do much more, like for example decreasing quality to lets say 144p

I’m not saying that adblockers will not be able to bypass it, maybe there will be a solution as well, but wanted to say that the blank screen waiting is not their only weapon

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

If YouTube operates at a loss and they decide to ditch their service its their problem, not mine. I’m not here to save google

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

humanity is slowly turning it’s back on social media

Are you living in a parallel universe or something? Are we talking for the same humanity that is 24/7 on Instagram and on tiktok?

I really wish you’re right but I’m afraid that the minorities you may know who just abandoned Facebook are not representing humanity

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

How else will the AI be able to recognize that such text is “bad”?

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Yes but these blank accounts will cease to be blank after these users start having conversations which use the middleman. And the middleman will have access to them…

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Go back to your basement since you obviously have never done any chores that include using the kitchen sink

OK Microsoft... trying to log into Teams while work lapop updates to Windows 11. No longer works in any iPhone browser, including Edge. The app will not authenticate my work login. (lemmy.world)

Update…Per Microsoft’s instructions, disabled all tracking protections in Safari and requested desktop mode and it works. Their instructions say turn protections back on after using teams… 😐...

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

To be fair, slack price can reach up to thousands per month for very big companies.

That being said, teams is a ridiculous piece of software that is indeed broken.

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

They say it is rewritten and in reality it has the exact same bugs and issues as before. Kudos to the product manager who managed to sale it as new

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Of course they are still in business. Otherwise where would reality get ideas from?

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Nah, most probably this IP, since it is close to yours, was also assigned to you at some point in time, while downloading or seeding said torrent

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

They want a bright future just for themselves. Not for the society as a whole

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Sorry what learning and expanding are you talking about? Can you please be specific about which years and give a source?

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

I seriously believe you’ve messed up the years

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

It is very naive to think that the collective endgoal of humanity is to have super health when right now the only goal is which super power will dominate over the others, killing everyone who stands on their way

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

If the endgoal of humanity is for everyone to live happily and healthy why don’t they start right now by decommercializing the health sector? Why health research and provision are commercial?

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

If you’re not trolling you’re stupid af

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Yeah the “postcommunist” is a very difficult word and the guy couldn’t understand the meaning. He thought that it might have something to do with the post office

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

People are advocating about blocking commingles and stuff when one doesn’t like then, and here we are with people obsessed with 2 other people digging all their past comments from years ago and reposting in a community here anything that doesn’t reaches this place because it is either blocked or defederated.

So if anyone has blocked them, not to miss the news smh

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

ketchup

Yeah this should he illegal, wtf

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Yeah I think it is cultural but this should be illegal too. This is what I was doing in kindergarten when I was mixing all the sauces and I was thinking that it was exceptional. Mixing 5 end-products is not considered “recipe” in some parts of the world

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

So while hunting and gathering was not necessarily a bad way of life, it did not allow for imperialism and was subsequently diminished by the imperialists.

Have you seen nowadays how they fish? They destroy whole huge areas leaving no fish behind. This is a type of imperialism. The problem is capitalism in its nature

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Yes, but as long as the “better” community doesn’t interfere and doesn’t try to take advantage of the less good communities I don’t see a problem. And of course doesn’t steal them their area and resources. Or does’t try to expand in ways that they accumulate more goods and resources than they need and can consume

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Yeah so what? The problem is the disproportionate accumulation of resources, goods or money. Which leads to accumulation of more of them, which lead to accumulation of power. There must be a limit on personal concentration of these. Anything above a level that is considered personal should belong to the community. Then there will be no incentive to make people capable of exploiting other people.

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Sure. So your idea is that people should be mandated to travel and change places every X years? Or what? I don’t get it.

Isn’t the problem the disproportionate accumulation of goods, resources and money? AKA capitalism? I mean theoretically, if you restrict these, you can also settle in one place without taking advantage and destroying everything around it.

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

I don’t disagree with you. I’m just asking (theoretically) how could such system regulate itself? Would the travel be mandated?

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Other animals are in intense life and death competition with each other generally.

Humans on the other hand, travel to the other half of the earth in order to kill other humans because they’re afraid that other humans will destroy their economy in the other side of the earth.

Talk to me more about the superiority of humans over animals. I’m listening

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

They incentive would be the prosperity of the community as long as people stop seeing each other competitive. Personal gain over dead bodies is only cancer.

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Goodbye

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Is this a genuine question wanting to find an answer? Only their consciousness can really prevent them or a “law enforcement” that we should first find a way to be uncorrupted. Is this realistic nowadays? Of course not, but we were talking hypothetically I think

decisivelyhoodnoises ,
@decisivelyhoodnoises@sh.itjust.works avatar

Sure, they developed this mentality when surviving could also be competitive. When there was not enough food for all and somehow surviving meant that it will not be for all. Now we prefer to destroy tones of food in favor of economy because if there is extra food this means that the price go down
