You can learn a lot even from seemingly stupid/mundane things. Like Seinfeld, it’s not educational but how many tidbits about life and culture can you pick up from it? You learn there was a popular drink called Bosco, there is a brand of snack cakes called Entenmann’s, you learn things about the JFK assassination on the Keith Hernandez episode, you see a parody of George Steinbrenner and learn he was the manager of the New York Yankees, people retire to Florida and live in crazy retirement communities, just to name a few. There is a grain of truth in most jokes. But you can’t learn everything from watching TV/movies.

I’ve seen a US Postal Service spam that would almost fool me. The URL is very close to a real one and when you go to the page (I didn’t do it but my coworker did), the page is a very good copy of the real site including the same loading animation and everything.

Yeah just because stores sell food doesn’t mean they should feed people for free. There are a lot of costs involved in getting food onto the shelves such as planting, growing, harvesting, transporting, packaging, and distribution, and the costs of running the store. This especially applies to small mom and pop stores.

Same sort of thing with non-food items, track any particular item and they don’t just appear on the store shelves, it takes a lot of people and effort and materials to get them there.
