@actuallyautistic How do you deal with the Toxic Positivity from people who insist that, just because people tell you to your face that your life is worthless and they're okay with hurting or killing you, you must be 'mature' by showing you don't 'resent' them for this?

This is what being a psychologist does to people I guess. But even if we refrain from seeing psychologists, they still find us in the wild sometimes. :(

@sal @actuallyautistic @shiri i don't know, it reminds me of all the times i got in trouble as a kid for getting upset and was told i was "just as bad" as the people doing the stuff that upset me for getting upset

also feels like the same kind of liberal logic as people who say that any violent action against a fascist (even if it's mild) makes you just as bad as fascists

i don't know why you keep jumping into threads with that Adam guy bringing up that he doesn't wear masks, but he definitely sucks and i hate him

it makes me realize that the reason i don't like a lot of autism advocacy stuff is because it has cis guys in it

privileged and entitled autistic people are so annoying and they think anyone who blames them just doesn't understand autism well enough

My job is fairly low-risk but I'm now housemates w someone who's pretty likely exposed to covid and other contagious diseases at work. (and doesn't seem concerned about it.) I guess I should get a booster to somewhat decrease my chances of transmitting things to other people around me this 'season.' I wonder about getting one ASAP vs waiting until 'updated' ones become available in ~ a month.

@sal @actuallyautistic @disabilityjustice i tried the xylitol nasal spray (Xclear) but haven't used it in a while

it's designed for allergies, the xylitol is supposed to stop allergens from adhering to nasal walls, and in my experience it helped for that

and i feel like given that mechanism it might do for viruses what it does for allergens, and reduce the risk of infection, i know a study is being done on it for prevention but i don't know if the results are out yet, there was a study done on using it for treatment of people with COVID that showed a reduction in symptoms i think
