Right? And it’s worse than that. I was going to finally sit down and watch the Across the Spider-Verse movie now that it’s on Netflix because it’s almost 2 hours and 20 minutes long and if I couldn’t take sitting there, I could at least take a break. But then someone who saw it told me it isn’t even the whole story and you have to wait for a sequel coming out who knows when which will also probably be that long. I can’t take it. At least give movies an intermission like they used to.

I went to a private elementary school. We had a lady from Planned Parenthood come in to teach us sex ed to a remarkably sophisticated way for an elementary schooler. I don’t remember a lot, but I do remember her demonstrating how to put a condom on using a clear plastic phallus.

To me, it doesn’t matter to me how clear it is. The state should not have powers that include life and death over its citizenry, no matter how heinous the crime. That’s a step toward fascism and the U.S. is taking way too many of those steps.

And, according to John Oliver, even the chocolate companies that try to only source their product from child labor-free sources, they say they can’t guarantee it. That’s how much and how often children are used on these farms.

After seeing that John Oliver report, I’m never eating chocolate again. All I would be able to do would be to think of those kids.

And yes, I realize that other products I have are made from child labor, but chocolate is a pretty easy one to give up.

They did some pretty shitty things when they were owned by Gawker (they actually showed a photo of a rape once) and a lot of people weren’t even aware they changed ownership when Gawker got sued into oblivion. More recently, they spent way, way too much time on celebrity trash reporting, but their reporting on abortion topics was solid if you were willing to wade through the shit. My hope is for much less shit and more of that reporting.

Definitely. I’m very glad they’re gone, although it’s bullshit that Peter Thiel funded the lawsuit against him after they outed him. Don’t get me wrong, they totally deserved it for what they did with Hulk Hogan (who is also a piece of shit), but I am guessing Gawker would have survived if Thiel hadn’t hired the best lawyers his fortune could buy. It just shows how uneven the justice system is.

“Reduced penalties” shouldn’t be two years. Especially after shooting at cops. A plea bargain should result in a lesser sentence, not a ridiculously lesser sentence. May I remind you that these people tried to overthrow the U.S. government?
