Cavemanfreak , to news in Paris Hilton testifies to Congress on being ‘sexually abused and force-fed meds’

Found that site at around chapter 30 or so. It’s a damn good (and horrifying) read.

Cavemanfreak , to technology in How Much Energy Would It Take to Pull Carbon Dioxide out of the Air?

I don’t know much about the technology, so I can’t comment on that. But I don’t really see politicians pushing for this, at least not succesfully. There are too many rightwing obstructionists in most Western governments right now…

Cavemanfreak , to technology in How Much Energy Would It Take to Pull Carbon Dioxide out of the Air?

It’s way less than that. 2.39x10^20 is around 4% of 5.8x10^21. Not even close to “almost as much”. Looks like the authors don’t know their powers of 10. So if we dedicate 5% of the total energy for one year it could theoretically be done.

Cavemanfreak , to technology in How Much Energy Would It Take to Pull Carbon Dioxide out of the Air?

Yep, it’s close to 4% of the total. Not really “almost as much”.

Cavemanfreak , to technology in Spotify has raised prices for the second time in a year, with no new benefits, after its CEO sparked outrage by claiming the cost of creating 'content' is 'close to zero'

Sure, but it also only counts book time. If you listen 2x it’s only 7.5 hours.

Cavemanfreak , to technology in Spotify has raised prices for the second time in a year, with no new benefits, after its CEO sparked outrage by claiming the cost of creating 'content' is 'close to zero'

Nah, what’s worse is that it’s only 15(!) hours per month!

Cavemanfreak , to android in Free and open-source YouTube clients w/ no ads

Regular ReVance works just fine. Installed it to my wife’s phone just earlier today.

Cavemanfreak , to technology in Instagram's unskippable ads test causes outrage among users

Not that I know of… Most of the time I forget to change, but since the second post I see is an ad 90% of the time I usually realize my mistake very quickly.

Cavemanfreak , to technology in Instagram's unskippable ads test causes outrage among users

Have you tried just looking at “Following”? That shows everything in chronological order, without ads. Lets me quickly see what’s new, and then close the app. I don’t discover many new recipes anymore, but that’s a price I’m willing to pay.

Cavemanfreak , to technology in 17 cringe-worthy Google AI answers demonstrate the problem with training on the entire web

At least it gave credit to a reddit user when it suggested to a suicidal person that they could jump from the Golden Gate Bridge!

Cavemanfreak , to news in California Passes Bill Requiring New Cars To Beep At You When You're Speeding

It’s quite unreliable though. Ours works probably ~90-95% of the time. The other 5-10% it missed the sign or reads the sign on a neighbouring road. That doesn’t sound too bad, but if it’s going to beep at you (for a mistake it made itself nonetheless) it would quickly get really annoying.

Cavemanfreak , to science_memes in Conspiracies

True! But that was also what you used 😜 I looked up the average distance though, which seems to be 385 000 km. Which means we would fit everyone with about 2 000 km to spare 😃

Cavemanfreak , to science_memes in Conspiracies

Is 116 500 km, so we’re missing the mark with a little more than 43 000 km.

Cavemanfreak , to science_memes in Every base is base 10

Aah, the ol’ reddit switche… Wait, never mind…
