Brkdncr , to news in World Famous 'The Abbey West Hollywood' site of over 70 drugged drinks, report says

Everyone in the greater LA area knows to stay away from that place.

Brkdncr , to news in Elizabeth Holmes barred from federal health programs for 90 years

I honestly believe that this (what she did) happens all of the time. But she was too young, too female, to get away with it.

I suspect we won’t see any more consequences in the future for most people. I’d love to be proven wrong.

Brkdncr , to asklemmy in What are some structures today that you think will become "anceint" structures in the future

Park system buildings that are made out of stone.

Missle silos.

I recently was searching for some tips on overlanding routes. So many sites are just long strung together SEO word salad.

Yes but all the streets are laid out. Check it out on google maps.

Brkdncr , to news in Tech billionaires want to build a new city in rural California. Voters may get a say on it

The 3rd largest city in California is California City. You’ve never heard of it because it was the same plan.

Brkdncr , to technology in A review of the ASUS RT-AX88U Pro + I need your advice!

I just switched to tplink omada. It’s fine. If I need to look for something else it will probably be microtik. After that I’m looking at real enterprise firewalls.

Brkdncr , to technology in Electric school buses are a breath of fresh air for children | Nearly $1B in federal funding could help clean up the unequal health impacts of diesel pollution.

3 kids in a full size bus near the end of its rural route in sub-zero conditions. Buses aren’t insulated. An EV failure is going to be a problem. Considering how cheap those diesel heaters are it would be a liability concern to not have them.

Brkdncr , to technology in A review of the ASUS RT-AX88U Pro + I need your advice!

Honestly I’ve given up on single-device setups. Mesh APs with a router that doesn’t do any wifi is what I’m doing going forward. The tech is too different to put into a single device.

I’ve had nothing but problems over the years. Asus, Synology, whatever the isp hands out, etc.

WiFi also seems to be changing nearly yearly while routing (and switching) has not changed much at all.

You can generate a lot of heat with fuel-based heaters. Many buses already use these.

Makes sense to have an aux fuel heat source for EV buses that may deal with cold climate a few weeks out of the year.

Brkdncr , to technology in Apple to over 100 California employees: Move to Texas or lose your job

“No.”

California has some pretty decent laws tilted to employees, I’m curious how this will shake out.

Brkdncr , to news in Boomers won’t part with their homes, and that’s a problem for young families

Sadly, many can’t move. Retirement homes/communities are sometimes more expensive. Smaller homes cost more or have HOA fees they can’t make work. Most all options have taxes they also can’t make work.

I wish it were as easy as telling them to move but it’s not.

Brkdncr , to technology in AI cameras being set up on highways to catch drivers who throw trash out of their car windows

Yo, I hate litter and hate litter bugs even more, but this is the worst way to approach it.

Just put a bounty on litter bugs using dashcam footage. $100. Watch it get fixed overnight.

Brkdncr , to workreform in Bosses are using RTO mandates as a way to ‘blame employees as a scapegoat for bad firm performance,’ new research finds

The problem I’m dealing with is that there are real benefits to having people in situations where chance interactions occur and forced socialization at the expense of work productivity, but upper management doesn’t focus on that. They are focused on pushing the RTO agenda without explaining their desired goals.

Brkdncr , to technology in A huge battery has replaced Hawaii's last coal plant

I have solar and battery. They do not provide more energy on cloudy days. You sometimes get lensing for a few minutes but that doesn’t offset the massive loss in production.
