3 kids in a full size bus near the end of its rural route in sub-zero conditions. Buses aren’t insulated. An EV failure is going to be a problem. Considering how cheap those diesel heaters are it would be a liability concern to not have them.

Honestly I’ve given up on single-device setups. Mesh APs with a router that doesn’t do any wifi is what I’m doing going forward. The tech is too different to put into a single device.

I’ve had nothing but problems over the years. Asus, Synology, whatever the isp hands out, etc.

WiFi also seems to be changing nearly yearly while routing (and switching) has not changed much at all.

You can generate a lot of heat with fuel-based heaters. Many buses already use these.

Makes sense to have an aux fuel heat source for EV buses that may deal with cold climate a few weeks out of the year.

Sadly, many can’t move. Retirement homes/communities are sometimes more expensive. Smaller homes cost more or have HOA fees they can’t make work. Most all options have taxes they also can’t make work.

I wish it were as easy as telling them to move but it’s not.

The problem I’m dealing with is that there are real benefits to having people in situations where chance interactions occur and forced socialization at the expense of work productivity, but upper management doesn’t focus on that. They are focused on pushing the RTO agenda without explaining their desired goals.

I have solar and battery. They do not provide more energy on cloudy days. You sometimes get lensing for a few minutes but that doesn’t offset the massive loss in production.
