Is there an or community here? I've been using threads for that as it has a very active one

Mastodon is so broad and the federated model means I've basically only ever seen tech content since that's what I'm connected to

elysegrasso ,
@elysegrasso@historians.social avatar

@chas Try

There are also various hashtag prompts like (daily)

and some weekly ones on various topics.

@chas @elysegrasso there's an active community here, with many writing servers depending on what you write. I'm on a smut-focused server with a lot of writers and artists (smutlandia.com) and I have another account on wandering.shop, which has a lot of SF&F authors.

You can also interact with writers and readers regardless of server with hashtag games like and and groups like @bookstodon

Hello Authors of Masto?

Short story collections. Strong theme, or just the best stories? Can a collection include nightmares and light-hearted stuff? (An experienced author says a good collection does not vary wildly in tone. But my stuff does).

what do you think as a reader, and what do you do yourself?

@bookstodon

PS I have some free on my website

This is it, folkes! My debut novel has hit KS! Jump on over and check it out, back it for all you can afford, or at the very least, give this a boost. While you're there, mention you saw the link on in the comments and we can cross promote this platform!

A trashy tale of blood and betrayal, great summer reading with a bit of bite in the theme.

a review of kobold kody's frontier exposition and tonic show, by sean 5 stars - fun read! So, I came across the book in a weird way. This author happens to frequent a small Twitch stream that I frequent. I wasn't expecting much from the book but very quickly into it I was very intrigued and had a great time through the whole book. I hope the author puts out some more fantasy. I'd love to hear more about the Empire in the book which is just something in the background.

I'm putting together my Christmas list for family. It's that time of year again. So... Send me some reading recommendations! Give me links to YOUR books, guys. I'm going to bookmark this and save it for later, so I can purchase stuff throughout the year as well. I want to support everyone.

I hope everyone will check out the comments, too. Let's all support and love one another and help each other when and where we can.

So, does that mean that until you open the book it is in fact both read and unread? 🤔😜

12: Antagonist POV: What food would you serve to your enemy?

😏Antagonist? Food? That would be too simple.

First off, in The Closed Tunnel, in the deep underground cities, you should try to guess who the MC should avoid, who he should be scared to death of, and who is just watching him (yet).

Unobvious villains: Isn't that what we face in real life?😉

Do films or theatre play a role in your story?

Absolutely. In , Drusilla and Suetonius attend a production of Plautus' "Pseudolas." It gave me an opportunity to talk about social mores in ancient Roman society; men and women were not seated together at most entertainments.

11.3 — Who is your favorite antagonist? Why?

Wow. It's hard to pick just one ... but I'd have to go with Delphine LaLaurie. She's an actual historical personage ... and she was even worse in real life than she was in my book! She wants Alcide for her daughter, Pauline, in "Bayou Fire," and is willing to go to any length to get her way.

11.2 — Do your characters play any games?

I had to think about this one ... and the only scene I can think of is in "Bayou Fire," where Alcide Devereaux gambles at cards. There's discussion of another card game in the book, but it's used as part of a ruse.
