I use node exporter for host metrics (Proxmox/VMs/SFFs/RaspPis/Router) and a number of other *exporters:

  • exportarr
  • plex-exporter
  • unifi-exporter
  • bitcoin node exporter

I use the OpenTelemetry collector to collect some of the above metrics, rather than Prometheus itself, as well as docker logs and other log files before shipping them to Prometheus/Loki.

Oh, I also scrape metrics from my Traefik containers using OTEL as well.

Way for non-technical users to upload to my server with resumability

Is there an app I can self-host that will let users upload stuff to my server? I need something where I can send a link to someone, and they can upload files & folders to my server (it doesn’t matter much to me where, as long as I can transfer them out to wherever I need later)....

When you switch to you will never want to boo back. It may be hard at the beginning but it is worth to do it.

You can migrate your services one by one. Docker is just another software in your server.

Main drawback of docker is that images and containers consume significantly more space, but SSD cost is cheap nowadays.

My advise when you learn docker is that you focus on docker compose.
