"Independence is an admirable trait, but it can be rooted in pride, insecurity, and fear as easily as it can stem from strength, confidence, and self-reliance. Be sure you know what drives yours." From Dark Arts and a Daiquiri by Annette Marie.

I present to you: my September TBR! I think it's pretty reasonable but then again I'm cheating and starting today with Untamed Shore by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. Not shown is my digital TBR which consists of Gideon the Ninth of which I have read three quarters already.

Really looking forward to Pet Semetary by Stephen King. Heard very good things about Pachinko but the size scares me a bit.

Do you love bookstores ? Do you love mystery books ? If the answer is yes to both questions, check Dawn McIntyre’s novel The Paper Pirate. Set in a little town of Pennsylvania, five retired seniors do their best to save their treasured shop. Of course each of them have secrets that may stop them from achieving their common goal.

My favorite series is Vampires in America (& Vampires in Europe) by DB Reynolds. So I’ve re- the 1st , Raphael, which is my least favorite one. It sets up the world well, but doesn’t have an HEA or even a HFN, so I recommend only if immediately followed up by the 2nd , Jabril. The FMC is hired to rescue one of Raphael’s vampires from a kidnapper. @bookstodon @romancebooks

If you love romance and suspense, you will love Breathing in Reverse ! The heroine has no idea that falling for a star could be dangerous, but discovers it at her expense when she receives threats from a mysterious fan. Danger and love are at the corner of this fast-paced novel that will surprise you with its interesting characters and plot.

Magicka is a beautifully illustrated book focusing on self care through natural spiritual practices. Carlota Santos’ art is very unique and I love the classical look of the book. From Herbalism to Astrology and Tarot, the explanations are clear and simple.

Tonight I'm turning off the phone and reading The Wild Robot by Peter Brown because I'm more interested in it than my daughter. It's OK to read kids as an adult right?

My is brief/won't spoil, to spread good, great, & spectacular far & wide.

HAVE YOU DECIDED ON YOUR QUESTION tells a darkly gripping, relatable tale of a girl poisoned by potential possibilities. This twisted take on technology is made more frightening because of how plausible (and perhaps, inevitable) the future it describes seems to be.

Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke.

Read this book while on holiday and it transported me to another world. It's quite a long book (i didn't realise, since i was reading an ebook) but i was engrossed the whole way in this story about magicians seeking to bring magic back to England. Best book i've read for quite a while. Fantastic writing.

A masterpiece.
