Greetings, myth lovers! In the wake of #ValentinesDay our theme this week is: Sweets and sweet things 🍬 Which #myths talk about a sweet treat or other sweet things? Tell us the #myth and tag us with #MythologyMonday for boosts!
hey everyone! plz help my son and I?! dealing with an abusive father, we’re homeless living in my car in between shelters and he has autoimmune issues.. this can cover an extended stay for a couple weeks.. plz donate & b*0st!!
This "holiday" is dumb. PLEASE ignore all the stupid propaganda that insists you NEED someone else to make your life complete. You don't. But if you CHOOSE to allow a special someone to share any part of your life, I hope you are lucky enough to have had a Monster that has added some loveliness to your life & makes/made you happy, whether now, in the past, or in the future.
Yep, the #ValentinesDay social oppression is upon us once again. I lately ignore it. My son is unable to escape it at school though. Teacher sent email to parents indicating students would need to make one for every student, lest anyone be left out, but they can’t provide us a list due to privacy. So please produce X cards with “class peer” as the name! How awfully useless!
Son decides he hasn’t the spoons for X generic cards. 👍👍👍
Even we married people don't escape: there's a social expectation that we remember to provide cards and go out for questionable meals at three times the going rate. You can never win at #ValentinesDay, only lose.
#February was the month of purification, for ancient #Romans.
One of the old rituals is #Lupercalia: young men (luperci) were initiated, and they hit the ground with goat-skin stripes in order to chase away evil spirits.
Also, they "hit" women because the festivity was linked with #Juno, goddess of childbirth.
