No one's asking Newsom to change anyone's culture. He has to recognize caste discrimination as discrimination and make it illegal in California. Casteism wont decrease, but caste oppression will be made illegal and will have negative consequences. Hopefully, it'll teach future American Indians Indian Americans that caste oppression is wrong.
