I don’t believe Israel wants complete victory over Hamas, that’s just an excuse. There’s no scenario where that happens. The closest they could get would be fighting a protracted guerrilla war, which isn’t much of a victory. What they really want is an excuse to genocide civilians in Gaza and reestablish a foothold to steal land to give to radical settlers.
