So house bots function as the refs in battle bots. They are used to separate stuck bots so a fight can continue and the like. Each team also gets one “unstuck” from the house bot per fight, where if they get stuck on the edge of the arena but are functional they can have the house bot come give them a push to keep the fight...
I just love these smaller events because things can just get more unhinged because the bots don’t cost a hundred grand to make.
It’s an interesting perspective. I first thought there was a security vulnerability and the service got hacked, but it turns out this is false. It’s apparently a credential stuffing attack. He also talks about bad security practices and argues that Cambridge Analytica wasn’t the fault of Facebook.
