I mean, Microsoft probably wouldn't mind it too much if everything just magically went "back to normal" right now over at OpenAI. The fact that they've proven themselves to be so irrational and unstable means that they're going to have to bring their AI work in-house regardless, but that would give them time to do so in a more organized fashion.
Having OpenAI implode and everyone come to work for Microsoft instead may work out for Microsoft better in the long run, but for the next few weeks or months they're going to be suffering from the fallout of this chaos as well.
