Yeah, but my hardware knowledge is real basic. Closest I get to stuff like that would be PLCs, but I’m not really an industrial guy.

This reminds me of Minecraft redstone computers. Its great to see that does translate to the real world too with a GUI. (I’m aware that the very first computers themselves were mechanical calculations machines)

A long time ago I remember reading about mechanical nano computers as an idea and this got me to look that up again. Apparently that idea is still around and is more prevalent than I expected (though that’s an extremely low bar) e.g. cnet.com/…/darpa-funds-mechanical-nanocomputer/
