Great I forgot this was out today. Looking forward to the new season. I’ve just been catching up on latest season of Strange New Worlds and literally just got to the cross over episode the other day so the timing is perfect.
I really loved how they highlighted the differences between the Ceritos and Enterprise crews in that crossover, might be weird seeing them back animated again though now.
Oh yes, AI image recognition absolutely gives me that tricorder vibe. I have a friend at my community garden with some apps like that and it is so much like an away mission when she quickly makes an ID and tells us what to do with that information.

I feel like this, and the latest three, episodes have been kinda fillery. I’ve ended each by thinking, “Well, that was an episode.” It wasn’t bad but it didn’t push the envelope comedy-wise or plot-wise. It was some breezy fluff, good enough to pass the time to but I find myself looking for higher caliber laughs or deeper plot elements than this episode delivered.
The newer series after VOY/DS9 all made the same mistake by overlooking one of the most important characters in Star Trek, i.e., the Hero Starship. The Hero ship must be iconic, beautiful, unique and memorable. Without such a ship, nuTrek is merely Days of Our Lives but in SPAAAAAACE.
I never thought I would see the day where Paramount let the Star Trek IP out of their ecosystem ever again, let alone on Netflix.
When ENT was cancelled Doug Drexler and a bunch of the production staff tried to petition to get Netflix to pick up and finish at least one more season of the show. Everybody knew it wasn’t going to happen but it was a nice hope for a while.
I didn’t watch all of Prodigy but I know a lot of my friends have enjoyed it and were upset at its general removal from the internet. It’s insane to think something that we wanted 10 years ago that we never thought possible is happening.

Netflix has carried nearly all ST series and movies for years before CBS started pulling everything for their own streaming service. And since they also have a deal with Nickelodeon, it’s the first place I expected it to go.
