In my observation of religious leadership, there’s little correlation between how much the leader loves the god vs their peers in the same religion. In fact, it seems to be the opposite. Religious leaders are rank pragmatists that understand that furthering the religion is a numbers game for people and immense amounts of money are needed with the additional requirement of very little oversight. Knowledge of law, law enforcement, local and national politics are also critical to religious leaders. None of those very Earthly matters requires faith, and in fact the true zealots of the faith would make a mess of it assuming god will intervene on the church’s behalf.

-Does deals

-Spends money

-Loves spiderman

Edit:

-Has logged 10,000 hours of Marvel’s Spider-man Miles Morales

i used to love doing side work for churches. very generous, paid promptly, even with my plates that spelled out lucifer.

the ones i worked for treated contractors like people. it helps... and this comes from someone who thinks we should remove their tax exemption and find religion itself repulsive.

Your position is based on your love for God

I know this is ShowerThoughts, but even two seconds of thinking is sufficient to refute this. Also, if we’re starting our scheduled hourly anti-crusades, shouldn’t we be claiming the opposite: that often the highest members of the Church / churches exhibit the most ungodly and unfaithful behavior?

I mean, if the company in question was Marvel comics
