I think this is a good opportunity for people to explore joining alternative instances rather than just the largest. Lemmy.world is getting hammered today but other instances are chugging along just fine.

I have tried a few so far but the content is all still from World so… Maybe I’m doing it wrong? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I mean if you’re on an alternate instance the idea is that you’ll still see content from other instances since they all share. Some decide to “defederate” which means they don’t want to share and disable it. But so yeah you will see content from world still if you’re on an alt instance but you should be seeing more than just that.

I think it might just have been the app I was using earlier. It was like two totally different feeds between Connect and Liftoff when filtering for the same thing. Connect shows me everything everywhere all at once. Liftoff was only showing instances I had added accounts for, despite it having a “show me everything” special filter. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ahh gotcha. Yeah I’ve run into that too where the app was set to show something and it was causing confusion on my end
