Hi, I have a xiaomi mi a3 that I don’t use and I’m wondering if it is possible to use it for selfhosting. (piped, nextcloud…)
Hi,...
There seem to be plentiful options for text chat servers, so I’m curious for those that self-host their own, what their preferences & experiences have been with them....
edit: you are right, it’s the I/O WAIT that it destroying my performance:...
Mine is in the picture: 1544 days and counting!...
Hi fellow hosters! I really did not know where to ask this question - and i thought you lot are pretty similar to me. If you can think of somewhere else to post this, please let me know!...
Made a quick test of mesh VPN clients. Test was performed between host and a VM, both running Kubuntu 23.04. VM ran on KVM with a virtio network adapter....
Personally I’m running Foundry and have been meaning to spin up Owlbear 1.0 now that it’s self hostable - but I feel like there’s more i could be doing. Is anyone aware of a self hostable character sheet/character builder? I suppose i could go next cloud for storing folders and files but I don’t think anyone would use it...
Right now I’ve been using Tailscale because it automatically adapts to my network conditions. If I’m at home, it’ll prioritize local network connection, but when I’m out and about, it’ll automatically beam a direct connection or use a relay....

Just a hint for people searching a tiny selfhosted messenger with encryption and apps for iOS and android.
Hi guys! So I’ve just discovered jitsi meet. My girlfriend might have a good use for this, as she’s tired of the time limit for the free tier of Zoom. Plus, the most recent concerns regarding AI training. So, back to jitsi… Besides the obvious concern of running on other people’s servers…is there any disadvantage to...
Wasn’t sure where to ask this but figured people here host their own rss platforms. I just started with miniflux. Between that and reeder it makes RSS nice and easy....
Maybe I’m using the wrong terms, but what I’m wondering is if people are running services at home that they’ve made accessible from the internet. I.e. not open to the public, only so that they can use their own services from anywhere....
Any suggestions and feedback is welcome. Let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see added to the site....
I used a public instance of Piped for a while and thought about selfhosting it, but the installation process was incredibly hard, to the point of being obnoxious, and in the end, it didn’t even work. I liked the features I saw on the public instances and would like to revisit it some time. Until there I’m using Viewtube....
I recently moved Nextcloud and Gitea from Containers on a Debian VM to Alpine LXCs running Alpine’s packages. I’ve never had Nextcloud’s web interface so snappy and my resource usage for both is next to 0. If you’re running Proxmox I’d highly recommend trying out Alpine LXCs if they package your services.
Hi all,...
