There have been multiple accounts created with the sole purpose of posting advertisement posts or replies containing unsolicited advertising.

Accounts which solely post advertisements, or persistently post them may be terminated.

Suggestions wanted: Self hosted newsletter unsubscriber

Hey there,

I recently got increasingly annoyed by all the newsletters that keep to pop up in my (admittedly rather old) E-Mail-Accounts and I thought it might be a cool idea to have them unsubscribed from in bulk. Now I know of services like unroll.me, but those will of course scrape everything they can from your mail account. So: Is there any self-hosted alternative to these services so I can run them myself?

That would be neat. I recently started using Fastmail which offers a feature for this. They have some info on how it works which could give ideas to selfhost. Like which headers it uses. www.fastmail.help/hc/…/6905792637967-Unsubscribe

I never noticed fastmail has this, probably because I don’t use the webmail interface as often. Thanks for the tip!

If you are hosting your own mail server, a procmail recipe shouldn’t be too difficult. I run mimedefang, so could do it there too, but that’s a whole lot of overkill if you don’t already have that.
