Hello SelfHosted!...
I’m running internet to an out building 550’ from the main house. I’m going to trench an run conduit with pull strings and fiber. Do I just get regular multi it mode with sfp+ connectors on either end? Will my normal 10g switches be fine? Anything else I need to think about?
So, I’ve found that there are a lot of ways to backup a server and anything on it, but I’m somewhat at a loss for what to use to backup everything else to that server....
Hello....
Hi all, I’ve been in love with the idea of self hosting some essential services for my home and over the past year I’ve set up a domain, a thin client as a server and installed some docker containers that caught my eye....

I don’t know if this is the right place, I don’t even know if this will post but I had a Jellyfin server setup with a router and static IPs however with my ISP supplied router I have to use my router as an AP or I’m double natted, no IPV6, the dumb thing is that I can’t set IPs static on ISP router. There’s got to be a...
I’m looking to create an image gallery, to show images I have taken. Is there any software that would be great for this? I am open to any suggestions....
Despite being 13 years old, I use it as NAS with Unraid and works great. Not for computing of course, for that I have a HP EliteDesk Mini.
I'm currently planning to build a new server after I discovered what my system uses in Idle. As I have to set up a new system anyways I would like to add a NAS to it to manige my storage. Currently I just have a zfs-Pool in proxmox for my Data-Drives and all VMs/Containers that need access have escalated rights and can directly...
Specially to code on mobile....
Hi, I’m the maintainer of Decronym. You may have come across Decronym on the aliensite, especially in the spaceflight communities; it picks up on comments that contain acronyms (that are in its database), and drops a helpful top-level comment on the thread that it keeps up to date as more acronyms get used....
So, I’ve recently started torrenting more, but I wanted to be safe about it, or a safe as can be....
Been trying to work out how to do this but it seems be way out of my league....
Hey yall, I want to get into self-hosting. I want to start from hosting on a raspberry pi, and I am just wondering if yall have any recommendations (I’ve never hosted anything before, but have experience in linux and programming). Sorry if it’s bit of a stupid question.
Meeeeet #Yunohost!...
So I’ve been scratching my head for two days trying to get my own lemmy server up and running....
Hi, I wanted to host a personal Lemmy instance online (for just myself, I don’t think I can take the upkeep for other users - please let me know if this is not possible) and wanted to understand how to “attach” a CDN service to it....
I’m self-hosting the docker containers and I noticed the pictrs directory is steadily growing because of the cached images. Does anyone know if it gets cleaned up automatically or are hosters running scripts to clean it up after a certain amount of time? The install guides make no mention of it from what I can find.
I've got readarr up and running, now I need a front end. What do y'all prefer and why?
Hey. I really like the idea of the fediverse and Lemmy and would want to know as a beginner/not so experienced regarding selfhosting what would be the best way to get started? I saw there are vps options, but don’t know of I’m looking in the right direction.
Since rpis have been almost impossible to find, I've been looking around for alternatives for some local self hosted services like home assistant. A lot of boards seem to talk about GPU, GPIO pins, etc. But I really just want a single board, fanless (low power), decent CPU and RAM, ethernet....
Hi. I want to start selfhosting my data. I already have a jellyfin server running. I’d like to add a nextcloud instance. The setup of nextcloud says I should open up port 443 for using my own domain. Sadly I am not able to open up this port properly. It is open however when I visit jellyfin.mydomaim.com it is rerouted to the...
I am not looking to onboard thousands of users or host large communities, just my own and some family and close friends’ accounts. I don’t currently have a scalable homeserver setup (just a local Home Assistant instance on a Pi) and don’t have the space to put an old desktop running Proxmox on a cable....
I’m not an organisation, just an individual who likes to use that sort of board to organise himself....
