For real. Lemmy does feel a little empty sometimes but I’m glad that our corner burns bright.

For Yugioh… not really. I wouldn’t say it’s good but I grew up watching it so there’s heavy nostalgia surrounding it. I also play Yugioh a fair amount. I like puzzle and strategy games and Yugioh tends to prove that. The show is very clearly for children but it’s fun in a goofy/silly sort of way but that’s probably because I like the American Dub. The original Japanese anime is way darker. Still funny and has those tones but people outright die from playing the card games as opposed to the American version where they’re sent to the ‘shadowrealm’. Then again not sure that being openly sent to a realm filled with darkness and eternal torture is any better than death but whatever.

It’s just such a goofy concept. Thousands of years ago, there were real monsters that roamed an alternate world and Egyptians had the ability to conjure them and make them fight. They used giant stone tablets and various items imbued with power. Stuff happens and that stops. Then thousands of years later, an EXTREMELY camp dude goes to Egypt and finds these stone tablets, realizes what they are, and turns them into a card game called Duel Monsters. Why? So he can find those special items known as ‘Millennium Items’. While all this is going on, an old man goes to Egypt as well and finds one of those items. A broken apart puzzle. He brings it back home to his grandkid, named Yugi, who puts it together and releases a spirit called ‘Yami’ who happens to be super fucking good at card games because he’s the spirit of the last Pharaoh to have control over those tablets and monsters. Now this little kid and this spirit have to work together to play childrens card games to save the fate of the planet. Their friends include: Aggressively Brooklyn idiot, Airhead Jock with Heart of Gold, and Cheerleader. His enemies include his classmate, Kaiba, who is the billionaire teenage CEO of an international corporation that makes holographic technology for this card game and also war weapons. Other enemies include: Super Camp Apparently Not Gay dude who created ‘Duel Monsters’, Billionaire Teenage supposed-to-be-CEO, 5 Wall Street Executives, Multiple demonic entities, a giant dragon god from an alternate dimension and someone who brought sexy back.
