The people at retropocket.store have great products and it seems that i’ve stumbled on their ebay store. They are selling a GB Pocket Main boards that are either refurbished or completely rebuilt for a very reasonable cost. Does anyone on here have any experience with their work to recommend them as a parts supplier?
I sold my original Mini as it eventually ended up sitting in a case in a drawer rather than actually being played, partly because the form factor was so small but mainly because of all the reports of broken fragile screens from short drops like 2ft onto carpet....
It was a really early CD-Rom game, probably 1993ish. You started off in the stone ages using sticks and rocks, fighting off bad guys and solving puzzles, and you’d move through time using the weapons of that era. I don’t think I would classify it as an educational game because outside of the weapons and settings, I don’t...
I could list a bunch of general YTers that cover retro games among other gaming topics, but for those who mainly cover retro games I like Big Ole Words, Hungry Goriya, and Video Works.
In my search for the ultimate retro gaming machine I’ve been surprised by the limited options when it comes to controllers for iOS and android. While there are plenty of controllers that you can clip your phone onto in landscape orientation, I haven’t seen any that are designed to play in portrait mode. I see several...
I always loved this game, the graphics are so colourful and cute and the music is catchy as. I live in New Zealand and while we don’t have quite so many mazes full of nasty enemies IRL it is fun to see how a Japanese tourist in the '80s saw this place. The difficulty is vicious, but I discovered this gem in the Taito Legends...
Not pictured: Bible Adventures. I know I had more but I must have traded some in. I for sure had Jaws and Jack Nicklaus Golf. And here’s the console. I replaced the 72 pin connector and she runs perfectly still. SO CLEAN inside. I couldn’t believe how spotless it was when I opened it up.
I love this little device. The solid feeling of the metal casing and the little screen feels good for retro gaming. It has me playing a lot more retro games than I would have ever played otherwise.
Just got this bad boy yesterday and I’m like a kid at Christmas! 😄 The delight I felt firing up my old love, Desert Strike… Goosebumps! Seriously impressed with this bit of kit, and I’m enjoying exploring the options as much as the many many games! The effort put in by the community with GarlicOS and the ROM packs is...
by far my favorite console of all time since i first got it, i love pretty much everything on it. someone actually ported a game to the gamecube in the modern day (albeit it needs Swiss, a homebrew app to run) and it’s just so cool to see that it refuses to die
I do like myself a good Japanese game every once in a while, but right now I'm looking for other PS1 games made outside of Japan that are still very fun to play.
