Under Defeat HD: New Life on Modern Consoles

G.rev’s critically acclaimed action game, Under Defeat HD, is about to gain a second life with its expanded release on modern platforms. Set for launch in Japan on December 5th on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

Originally released as an arcade game in 2005, the game was ported to Dreamcast in 2006 but only in Japan. The high-definition remaster, Under Defeat HD: Deluxe Edition, followed in 2012 for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Now, City Connection brings an updated version of Under Defeat HD to contemporary consoles with added features including a new soundtrack by Shinji Hosoe.

The digital version is priced at ¥3980 for Switch, PS4, and PS5, while standard physical editions will set you back ¥4960 for PS5 or Nintendo Switch. There’s also a limited edition Black Box available for ¥8,800, featuring bonus items like the game’s original soundtrack on CD and a fan book.
