Sharing this as I loved the deep dive on those old games
Was doing some looking around Goodwill and was lucky enough to find an Original Xbox for only $25! Got it home and cleaned him up, disc drive didn’t work at first but I tinkered and fixed the belt that was getting stuck. Booted up an old copy of Halo 2 and all was well. So happy with this find!

I have only played with it for a few minutes as I am about to start work. But it seems really great so far. I need to look into the control scheme to learn some of the controls, but it was not difficult to figure out....

I’ve essentially only emulated Pokemon games from my childhood and their romhacks previously. But now I’m looking to play things I just completely missed because I was too young, not born, or didn’t have the system then....
I’ve been trying to get into playing some old games I’ve either missed out on or have completely forgot I’ve even played. I now find myself wanting to play games from SNES and the Gameboy line and can’t settle down on which handheld to play all these games on....
I love my Ayn Odin. There are great emulators on Android but also a ton of native games with controller support. With a Play Pass subscription ($30/year) and Netflix Games (which I’m paying for anyway), I have everything I need and the battery last 6h+....
Hi lummy community, i’m one of those who came from reddit. For now i’m still learning the new UI/lemmy philosophy. on reddit there was some sub that i was using a lot like SBCGaming, AYN odin, miyoomini, well you get the kind of stuff, principaly retro handeld stuff. Now that i want to use lummy i was wondering if there...
I’ve only been to Super Potato so far. I remember that when I posted some pictures in the old retrogaming subreddit from my visit, quite a few people said that SP is overpriced and for tourists....
I love his videos, they’re my usual workout “podcasts”. New one is about the 8BitDo controllers, I’ve been lurking about the ultimate one, I’ll finally know if it’s worth it
If anyone’s interested I’ve created a new community for retro computing. Come and talk old computers!
Don’t know if this fits since it’s a new game for a retro console, but as a big collector of retro handheld stuff this has been a treat!...
My first love was the ZX Spectrum, but my first salacious affair was with the Sega Master System, many years later....
Wanted to take a moment and welcome all the new subscribes to the community. At the time of writing this there are 711 subscribes in RetroGaming....
I created GOG community lemmy.world/c/gog
I wanted to share this. I’ve been using it for a while. It’s a multi-system emulator that uses web assembly....
Gameboy Tetris wasn’t the first Tetris I played (that was Mirrorsoft Tetris on the ZX Spectrum, with its spooky AY theme music), but it is the Tetris I always go back to....
The oldest game I still really enjoy is probably The Secret of Monkey Island for DOS (1990). I like classic NES games too but I don't really play them anymore....
I’ve typed in the URL for this website as Lammy a few times by mistake. But it reminds me to play a great PS1 rhythm game!
There are a lot of ways to play the old video games. For me, my favorite way is with one of the little 3rd party retro game devices. I had a RGB10 Max 2 and it was great, but I dropped it and it broke. Im using an RG35XX and it’s working great for PS1 and earlier. I’d love to get something more powerful for PS2 games but...
Thought I would start a thread and get some traction for this community. What are some of your favorite retro games? My favorite is Super Mario Bros 3.
