Privacy 3.0: Unlocking Our Data-Driven Future by Rahul Matthan. The book's thesis is that privacy was invented by / caused by technological use and that understanding this helps us create better ways of preserving and protecting ourselves. I think the books provides a good overview of the anthropological-historic evolution of the idea & practice of privacy. But the recommendations for the current fall flat.
