Connect to Gluetun from LAN PC?

I want to use myanonymouse to download/seed books but it requires you to download from the same IP as you use to browse the website. My qBittorrent is in docker container on my home server, using gluetun with a VPN.

I tried both of these instructions to no avail I think there is something I’m missing. Shadowsocksqt5 latency just says “error” and using the chrome extension suggestion just simply doesn’t load anything.

The reason I don’t want to seed from my workstation pc is because myanonymouse requires you to seed to maintain your account and the workstation is mostly off. My home server is always on. Any ideas?

You have to open qbittorrents console and run a curl command that contains a cookie from your MaM security settings. There is a guide in help&support -> api -> dynamic seedbox ip

WorkingClassCorpse ,

You need to set up a dynamic seedbox ip

I have this exact setup. You’ll need to setup a bash script to update your client ip, since gluetun will periodically change servers

There are a couple forum posts walking through it, it’s pretty simple

I have an account with them for two years. My torrent client is online 100% at home, but I used to browse the site from my job and never got blocked or banned, or even notified that there’s an issue. I suggest you ask in their forums.

I should have clarified, not browsing, but the torrent/magnet link won’t work. I can’t browse from one PC then paste the link into qBittorrent on the server.

Have you also exposed the proxy port? In addition to enabling it with -e, you also need to set -p 8888:8888

Just send a PM to the staff. They let you use certain vpns as long as it is noted in your account.

Source: I use a VPN with MaM and that is how I did it.

The staff were the ones who told me there’s no workaround except to purchase a seedbox

ReedReads ,

Your home server is your seedbox. Call it that. Not sure why you’re getting hung up on semantics.

I’m getting hung up because nobody clarified that until now thank you.

You can bypass the one IP requirement on MaM. There’s plenty of discussion of it on the forums. It’s a right archaic pain in the ass, but it is doable.

That’s promising, can you point me in the right direction?

jrbaconcheese ,

No because ironically I’m not at home so can’t browse there lol. However, I learned it from the MaM forums. It requires me to re-search and re-read it every 3 or 6 months when it expires too.

You could run Firefox in a container attached to the VPN for browsing. You could then connect to it from your workstation over your LAN.

Unrelated from the prompt:
This may effect the sandboxing of Firefox and change the fingerprint of your browser.

I did actually do it this way for a while, it’s clunky but works. Unfortunately my Firefox container stopped loading, I tried Chrome and N.eko which also had issues and I’m not experienced enough to overcome those.
