The best list I’ve seen is fediverse.party/en/peertube/ , if you scroll down a bit, they list 4 different server indexers. My favorite is peertube.fediverse.observer/list because it shows you the most info, the only problem is it doesn’t give you a description of the instance (politics, content, etc.)
I know what you mean though. Choosing an instance is hard. I looked through a hundred or more before I chose one to join.
