As far as I am aware, grazing animals like cows or sheep poop in the same meadows where they eat grass, but presumably don’t have any problems eating the grass and pooping in the same space. But if humans would eat vegetables that they had pooped on, my understanding is that we would get sick....

I started lifting weights (again) and accurately tracking my progress (I bought a “cheap” workout and weight loss plan, which requires a lot of data so you can see your progress (or regress)). When bench pressing and doing squats on the (Cybex) Smith Machine I had assumed that the bar weighed 45 pounds like a free bar does...

To clarify the point for my four-legged friends. How do you resolve the incongruity between this and the conventional view? Which is that people are self-aware creatures with valuable opinions .

I was recently involuntarily held in a mental hospital where I went through prison like conditions (strip search, had to wear scrubs, was locked in a room outside certain times a day, stuff like that) and thankfully came out in one piece after 8 days of this crap. I was just wondering why we subject people to these conditions...

When we make an exception for a particular gender, race, religion etc, we imply that an exception is necessary for this class. Which is to imply that this class is somehow deficient. (which is of course insulting and problematic). Am I the only one who sees this?
