Should there be an "ALL OFF" button to instantly shut down all these new AI Defense bots that the Military in the US want to build and deploy in the thousands? (decrypt.co)

The Pentagon Is Accelerating AI and Autonomous Technology America’s military leaders are racing to deploy thousands of autonomous weapons and an AI-powered air monitoring system for Washington D.C.

Why does it seem different platforms of the fediverse are not so good at communicating with each other? Is this something that will eventually improve? (kbin.social)

I have an account on kbin. Recently I saw a post across my feed in which a magazine that I follow (that's based on a Lemmy instance) was celebrating over 1k subscribers. When I visited, I saw only 240 or so....

What exactly is Misskey supposed to be? (kbin.social)

Most of the other Fediverse platforms are pretty obvious to me as to what they're meant to be alternatives to. Mastodon for Twitter/Threads, PixelFed for Instagram, Lemmy for Reddit, Matrix for Discord/Slack... But I can't quite place MissKey. It doesn't really feel like any other social network I've seen before....

How does this federated forum / site work? (kbin.social)

I migrated from reddit like a lot of folks. I'm using kbin.social, but it seems I can also see posts from people at places like lemmy.world. How many different instances are there? How does the federated model work? So far I like what I see, but I'm also just trying to understand how things are integrated here.

Is there any more ethical solution to our current circumstances than "murder all billionaires"? (kbin.social)

Not that I'm particularly against that - quite the opposite, in fact. But I'm wondering if anyone sees, or had seen a path to social and climate recovery/progress that could occur without first eradicating the class of people who most enjoy the present status quo.

Since kbin's maintenance earlier, I haven't been able to view magazine info in order to subscribe, unsubscribe, or block. Was there a change or is this a bug? (kbin.social)

When I click (on mobile) on the kbin logo, it used to pull up information about the magazine/community, which had options such as subscribing and blocking. Now it just brings me to kbin.social.
