Was just looking at fediverse observer. Did something happen 19 August or the graph didn't worked that day? (sh.itjust.works)

The Pentagon Is Accelerating AI and Autonomous Technology America’s military leaders are racing to deploy thousands of autonomous weapons and an AI-powered air monitoring system for Washington D.C.
I don't know (but wanna learn) programming, but, for example, can't you inspect the code of an app if it's installed?...
Is the front of a computer mouse the arse of it due to the cable "tail" coming out of it, or is the front of a computer mouse the head of the mouse, as it is more of a correct shape?
I'm using instagram to browse the discover feed mindlessly sometimes. I know, it's stupid, but I'm bored....
What are your ideas, that if you could implement would likely stop our species from warring so much?...
I've found that some of the replies in kbin have solid lines and some are dashed even though they are relplying to the same comment. Are dashed lines for accounts on unfederated instances or something similar? (still new to fediverse so not sure how this all works)
I have an account on kbin. Recently I saw a post across my feed in which a magazine that I follow (that's based on a Lemmy instance) was celebrating over 1k subscribers. When I visited, I saw only 240 or so....
Why can't the U.N. just make war illegal?
My understanding of the word banger is it's reserved for good songs. There are many good slow songs as well, but the word banger seems to imply something more intense and bombastic. So, is it appropriate to describe slow songs as a banger?
So would you say animal behaviour is indeed changing lately?...
There’s a ton of pictures on there but it seems like there’s just a wall, no possibility of registering or upload so I’m wondering how 2 million pictures came on there. This can’t all be done manually by a single guy. How are pics getting on there?
Most of the other Fediverse platforms are pretty obvious to me as to what they're meant to be alternatives to. Mastodon for Twitter/Threads, PixelFed for Instagram, Lemmy for Reddit, Matrix for Discord/Slack... But I can't quite place MissKey. It doesn't really feel like any other social network I've seen before....
With reddit I could go to the sidebar and quickly type in a subreddit if I wanted to browse it specifically....

I migrated from reddit like a lot of folks. I'm using kbin.social, but it seems I can also see posts from people at places like lemmy.world. How many different instances are there? How does the federated model work? So far I like what I see, but I'm also just trying to understand how things are integrated here.

I have two blankets I really like and use frequently, but I don't like having on my bed (due to them being too warm). If I had them on the floor overnight when I don't need them, would it damage the blankets?...
Feel free to pick a context:...
Basically title. As you can see, I see this community and can post to it fine. But some others just return a 404....
I have very limited background in programming. I quite want to develop the game myself, or with only minimal help. Is there one language that is better than others for game development, or is more versatile?
Not that I'm particularly against that - quite the opposite, in fact. But I'm wondering if anyone sees, or had seen a path to social and climate recovery/progress that could occur without first eradicating the class of people who most enjoy the present status quo.
The dental industry in America is massive. Why is it such an important part of the American lifestyle?
When I click (on mobile) on the kbin logo, it used to pull up information about the magazine/community, which had options such as subscribing and blocking. Now it just brings me to kbin.social.
I can understand trying to teach someone via visuals or by talking to them but I can't figure out how you would teach someone multiplication or about government services or scammers without either.
