Why do we call ourselves lemmings when Fedier is such a better name?
“Fedier” is easy to say. It also applies not only to lemmy but also to Kbin.
There have been multiple accounts created with the sole purpose of posting advertisement posts or replies containing unsolicited advertising.
Accounts which solely post advertisements, or persistently post them may be terminated.

I had made one for lemmy.world and lemmy.ml, not really knowing what I was doing just checking out the different sites. Is there a point in having multiple accounts or can I just access everything with one account?
It reminds me how Imgur is often discussing images that were uploaded for Reddit and OP will never know about all the comments.
I definitely wasn't inspired by the post by that guy interested in selling their kidney /s
Had a blast hearing about Chik-fil-a and still shopping at Target for everything I can. Is there one I have missed? I am down for the collapse of Hobby Lobby. 🍿🍿🍿. See if “HeGetsThat”.
Was wondering if sub-lemmys were a thing. In other words: are there ways to make a community where you can draw direct, meaningful relations between existing communities?
Hey folks. I’m relatively new to lemmy and the fediverse. After spending some time here I really like the idea and most of the implementation but there is one major flaw. As a user I cannot seem to ban a whole instance and that really sucks. I do not want to get bombarded by porn all the time but there are more porn...
Maybe life is just an accident each time.

By this I mean: something that can view and fully interact with multiple different services like Lemmy, Mastodon, etc....
For example: for a particular use case , I want to go a step beyond ActivityPub, and allow a user who created an account on another server to perform full authentication on my server, effectively become a proxied registered account, granting privileges of a natively registered account....
That to me was an important feature of reddit :(...
Like, do we feel more pain than a fish would? More euphoria than mice could feel?
The bell icon says (1), but I have nothing when I filter by “unread” and when I filter by “all” it looks like I read everything
Hey Lemmy folks...
I'm starting to get tired of people talking about Reddit on Lemmy. I personally don't care about Reddit anymore and am not interested in Reddit news....
I’m looking for a decent HoverZoom to use on this site, but I’ve tried a few and I am having mixed results. Some images won’t be zoomed and some will, and I’m not sure why. Is anyone on here using one that works consistently? Thanks!
A great use for reddit is the ability to search posts and opinions about any niche topic. Will that be possible with Lemmy as it grows? Will I be able to Google “instant rice Lemmy” and get a comprehensive tier list of each brand?...

The title says it all. I’m looking for a community where people can ask questions and have open discussion about Lemmy overall, specific instances, communities within....
Basically the title....
So I’ve been wondering, how do I see if I’m seing a post from a server that’s defederated from the instance I’m registered on? Like for example beehaw, which defederated from lemmy.world.
