When there are objective evidence supplied by reputable sources, then I’d be inclined to believe it. As this is OANN and another poster linked NY Post, yeah this is garbage as usual.

What is this telling me?

WGA takes care of its members and a food service worker gets a cheque this Thursday.

Awesome.

huskypenguin ,

Exactly. Do you think the studios are living frugally while raking in billions and paying zero royalties on streaming hits? Fuck the studios.

AngryHumanoid ,

Do you have another source for this information? Before I form an opinion I definitely need data from a more reputable site.

Why are you posting anything from a fascist propaganda network?

If it’s true, does it really matter where it comes from?

FfaerieOxide ,
@FfaerieOxide@kbin.social avatar

Quite the presumptuous "if" there, isn't it?

Does it matter if something is a fascist propaganda rag?
Yes it does.

Should people not ever legitimize fascism by linking to platforms that only exist to further fascism?
No they should not.

AngryHumanoid ,

The key being “if it’s true”. The only 2 sites I’ve found making these claims are pretty blatant right wing sites with a vested interest in talking shit about strikes. Beyond that the actual claims in the article are contrasting any spending the WGA has done over the last several years against the current spending needed for the strikes, as if it’s some kind of gotcha that the WGA was gasp! spending money but is now ASKING for money! It’s not exactly apples to apples even if all their unsourced claims are true.

theangriestbird ,

The key being “if it’s true”.

Lol their source is the New York Post, a tabloid.

realcaseyrollins OP ,

True. There's a reason why the Poisoning The Well fallacy is known as a fallacy.

vzq ,

If it’s true, does it really matter where it comes from?

Yes.

hypelightfly ,

Yes.
