The issue with allowing Capitalism of some commodities leads to wealth accumulation and Capitalist control, who will walk back those protections and privitize again.
Marx actually had a similar idea, Labor Vouchers. You work, and get paid for what you actually crested. Then, when used, these Vouchers are destroyed so they can’t circulate and accumulate.
