Rishi Sunak got really, really tetchy with Keir Starmer in PMQs on Wednesday, to the point of basically yelling at Starmer on the final question, which was “will you join me in wishing the country a merry Christmas?” Sunak then spent the entirety of the rest of the week tetchily denying being tetchy. It doesn’t help that it’s not the first time he’s gotten tetchy over being asked perfectly reasonable questions.
In Canada speed is always kilometres. For distance we don’t really use miles for jogging but most know the conversion if they are avid runners the rest the same. For temperatures it’s Celsius but people in border towns may use Fahrenheit. For weight for people official documents will be kilograms but most people talk in pounds, no stones. For measuring it can be both metric or imperial ie cups. For liquids it always in metric so millilitres or litres but if you go to the pub you can order pints which people think of in ounces and depending on the pub could be 14-20oz.
I did some Google sleuthing - the Dinklage post might be a year old, the Davis one is a few years old but I can’t find an original one, so I suspect neither did the original.
