Hi, thanks for mentioning OpenSIL. I have been trying to promote OpenSIL on Lemmy for a bit now.
However, OpenSIL is not an equivalent to Coreboot, from what I understand. I believe it sits beneath the BIOS/UEFI, since it is the set of libraries that initialise the silicon in the machine (OpenSIL: Open-Source Silicon Initialization Library).
However, OpenSIL will definitely enable Coreboot and Libreboot development by leaps and bounds compared to what it is now, on AMD hardware. I can’t wait for 2027.
