Red Hat used to be one of the champions of FOSS. The last years, after being acquired by IBM, they bought and castrated CentOS and now restrict public access to “their” code....

Hi all,...
Just had my old dumb LG TV die after 9 years of working just dandy. I lack the desire to root around for a dead capacitor so I am currently in the market for an approximate replacement to act as the display for my Linux media center in my living room. I figure this is the right crowd for finding a non-invasive TV so my Linux...
For quite some time now, KDE has intermittently been unable to go to sleep. It will either go to a black screen with the cursor still showing, and the computer running, or it will show a half frozen sddm looking screen with the computer still running. The computer, in both cases, will be wholly unresponsive, and the only way to...
I’m looking for a machine to run OpenGPT, Stable Diffusion, and Blender. I’m on the precipice of buying an Alienware w/ Ryzen 9 with a Radeon RX6850m. I have a Steam Deck and I’ve been trying to install packages from AUR and have gotten nothing but endless errors trying to do so. The dependencies I want to install have dependencies which have dependencies which have dependencies....
sudo dnf --assumeyes distro-sync && flatpak update --assumeyes && flatpak uninstall --unused --assumeyes && pipx upgrade-all && rustup update && cargo install-update -a && flutter upgrade && gup update
For me its KDE.
Just in the consideration phase, but makes you wonder the timing after the Red Hat move. Maybe alright if they do it the KDE way of needing to manually opt in and not like Cononical’s painful way of manually having to opt out. Or Firefox’s needing to manually opt out though easy.

It seems like for at least a decade every application/framework has had their own paste buffer, and honestly I’m surprised this isn’t “just working” out of the box by now....
