Hey fellow Linux enthusiasts! I’m curious to know if any of you use a less popular, obscure or exotic Linux distribution. What motivated you to choose that distribution over the more mainstream ones? I’d love to hear about your experiences and any unique features or benefits that drew you to your chosen distribution.
I ordered a Raspberry Pi 5 so I have a Pi 3 that’s about to be redundant. I haven’t used Pi-Hole so I was thinking it’d be good for that but I’m curious if there’s any downsides for users. Are sites blocked if you dont whitelist them? That sort of thing....

Hi, I’m looking for a distro for my laptop. My first distro was Pop!_OS, then I switched to Fedora, then Arch for a year and 2 months ago I switched to Fedora Silverblue, because I wanted to try immutable distro that relies on containers and flatpaks to be usefull. Silverblue is great but not so much for me, its not flexible...
For me, it’s not enough to verify the integrity of an ISO – I also have to verify its authenticity (or at least verify the checksum file) with GPG. I don’t know why, but just need to see that “Good signature” message before I feel safe installing Linux....
I dont really want to use that proprietary driver, but I plan on getting an old Thinkpad W530 that has some probably pretty slow NVIDIA GPU. Do you know if these are well supported by Noveau? Would be great!...
I may give it up, but just playing with an old laptop and looking at linux for the first real time and of course, the old laptop happens to have this network adapter… 🤦🏻...
Title. Just had this baseless yet possible idea on my head and I’d like to know how wrong it is? Since afaik, “nobody” has absolutely zero permissions… other than the ones given by the user. Pretty sure I’m missing something vital or important, but… I’m completely fine being called dumb every now and then....
