FTC appeals its loss to Microsoft in Activision Blizzard case

Earlier this week, a judge ruled in favor of Microsoft in its fight with the FTC.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) says it is appealing a recent US federal court order that cleared the way for Microsoft to purchase Activision Blizzard. The FTC has filed a notice that it’s appealing Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley’s decision, but we won’t know the regulator’s arguments until the full appeal is submitted to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Considering ABK are being delisted from the Nasdaq-100 this weekend, I’m guessing Microsoft will close regardless of this appeal?

That's my understanding. If the FTC is successful, I've been told they can start breaking up Microsoft under antitrust, but they couldn't prove that this acquisition harms competition in the gaming market.

As they should.

MS is using monopoly tactics to carve itself a huge portion of the video game market. They already own dozens of IPs that they have no intention of ever using.
