What are some cool tactical shooters? I know that Linux has some good shooters like Xonotic, but I would like something more tactical like Arma, Rainbow Six Siege or CS:GO. It doesnt have to be open source altho this is a big plus. I know about AssaultCube and Urban Terror, but they seem unmaintained/dead.
Hello! So I saw that skyrim is discounted on gog right now and I was wondering if the anniversary edition on gog would be good for modding. I read somewhere that the gog version isn’t compatible with dll SKSE mods. Is it worth getting on gog or should I wait for steam to discount it?

Is anyone else sick and tired of how many games these days are focused around gun fighting? IMO, FPS games haven’t markedly improved since the original counter strike which I played as a CHILD. Frankly, I just wish we could all stop obsessing over guns and come up with something new....
If not, how do we get one going? I’m new to Lemmy and /r/FreeGameFindings + /r/AppLab are the top subs that I would want to see recreated here!

Looking for some games where it feels like you’re actually trying to solve something with the clues and secrets you uncover. For example, Disco Elysium actually made me feel like a detective despite how wacky and surreal it could be....
Mine is vehicle building games like Stormworks or Scrap Mechanic. It’s so much fun to shoot at your friends with your latest nuclear drone while hiding in your bunker with a better defence system than Area 51 !...
My friends and I have been exhausting our current library of games and are looking for suggestions. It tends to be pretty hard for us to all meet at the same time. Usually we prefer to do stuff that we can finish in one session on the weekends because one person might have to leave as another person joins. Don’t mind if its...
