First time making Japanese food and it tasted amazing but I didn’t have any bowls in the house so I had to use a random tin.
Salmon, dill, roast garlic royal, potatoes. Also pictured plantain chips with mango salsa and waaaay in the back is grilled peaches & rocket salad
In my house, this was always just “Gnocchi”, so I learnt what it was called when I looked up a recipe to link here....

Our property is covered with wild raspberry, will black raspberry, and wild blackberry cane. I picked these this morning. I got about 500 ml (2 c) of berries. I’ve tinned them and will freeze them until I can pick more over the next few days. Then…I’ll make black raspberry jam!...
A vegetarian version of Japchae from my favourite restaurant that closed recently.
Short grained polished rice, lightly pickled cucumbers, pickled red onions, gari, tartar of raw salmon, raw salmon, pickled mushrooms, mango, spring onion, homemade furikake, more seaweed, sauces and then a ramen broth Miso soup.
I found the strawberries on sale for 98 cents a pound a few weeks ago and hulled, sliced + froze them. Milkshakes are a delicious way to put them to good use....

The hock is the leg of the pig above the foot and below the ham/shoulder. When we had our pigs processed we always got the hocks back. We tried to sell them on to our customers but no one wanted them. Most said they didn’t know what to do with them....
