Is there a website that shows a list of dead instances and how long they were alive and why they died? I think that would be a cool website. It could be for Lemmy, Kbin, Mastodon, and everywhere else in the Fediverse!

Many NSFW have nothing to do with porn. Sometimes are horror contents, some times are crude images, some times are just lazy people who don’t know of the Spoiler tag. What I mean is someone sets up a new community, blasts it with a bunch of content to get things started, or sets up a new community bot that makes 20 posts and every other post in my feed is that community. Usually with 1 or 2 votes each and no comments. No matter what way I sort I see this....

We have a bunch of instances hosting basically the same images multiple times. Using IPFS we could increase the availability of images for users with almost no cost to instances. I have heard rumors that pict-rs can’t be easily scaled up due file system based storage and would need a rewrite....
